Villa in Orange Grove

Very attractive location surrounded by orange grove, close to the beach and provincial park. Our host Joe very friendly and helpful. His hospitality was unparallel ! If you are looking for a peace and quiet during your vacation this could be your destination. I would recommend renting SUV or car with high clearance suspension as the access road to this property is unpaved with multiple potholes .

Traditional Sicilian farmhouse, with wrap around terrace, located in an orange grove near the beach

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this spacious house located in the beautiful orange grove. It is less than 5 minutes drive to an amazing, peaceful and secluded sandy beach. Joe, the owner, was extremely helpful and friendly, as were the three kittens we were helping to take care of.

Great place for peace, quiet and the beach at the nearby (5 min drive & 5 min walk) nature reserve.

Joe is a very helpful host, who responds quickly to any queries. The best thing about the house is the huge veranda on three sides. It provides shelter from sun, wind and rain if required and a lovely view of the orange trees. We come here for a "fly and flop" holiday. This corner of Sicily does not have much night life to entice you away, but it does have the most amazing and largely empty beach that will make you feel you are on a deserted island. If you do want some culture, Agrigento is not too far away to see the amazing Greek ruins.

A hidden gem in the middle of nowhere

This couldn't be a more amazing place if you look for something without any contact to the outside world. The house is located in the middle of an orange plantation. Only occasional visitors are the owner, a worker, and five cats. Only 10min on the bike (provided) to the beach, which is completely lonely in a natural reservation. This was not our last time there!

I could not happier with my choice. The house is comfortable both inside and in the outside patio. The location is perfect as it is immersed in the green and just minutes away from one of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily. The landlord is incredibly hospitable and available. Perfect

We stayed for two weeks in July 2015 with our two year old daughter and thought the accommodation was perfect for a relaxing holiday for us all. The huge covered terrace provided lots of shade all day which we all greatly appreciated. The beach is a very short ride on the bikes down a quiet country road, there was even a seat for our daughter on one of the bikes. The beach was never busy and there is a great spot where the local stream meets the sea which provides a great swimming spot for families. The owners were very helpful and friendly and the accommodation was very clean. The local restaurant in Borgo also does takeaway and there is a well stocked shop. All in all a great holiday in an away from it location with great accommodation.

Beautiful house in the orchard

We had a nice stay in this beautiful house with many particular details. The owner gave us a warm welcome with a basket full fruit, a bottle of wine and a jar of marmelade. Besides this gifts he was very friendly en gave us all kind of information about the area, also during the week. There is plenty of room outside to sit in the shade or in the sun. It should be nice if he put some information about the house and shops etc. on a paper. Inside the house the sofa and chair are not very comfortable, but the beds are fine. And the sandbeach is only five minutes away on the bike or with the car. So enyoy your stay.

Perfect

We would highly recommend this house situated peacefully in an orange grove it offers total relaxation. Mr Pontillo and his father are very kind, friendly people. They provided us with a huge basket of fruit from their land, a local wine and a delicious lemon marmalade. The house is very well kept with everything you could need for your stay. There are two bikes available and it is a 10 minute ride to the nature reserve which is well managed with woods and a beautiful beach which was almost deserted when we stayed. There are lots of interesting places to visit, Agrigento, Sciacca, Eraclea Minoa to name a few of the ones we enjoyed and we certainly hope to make a return visit in the future. Brian and Carol. Peace and tranquility

The property is beautiful both inside and out. It is set on the owner's orange grove which means it is in a very tranquil spot. It is only a short distance from a nature reserve and a wonderful 3 km beach. We stayed in August and there was never more than 20 people on the beach. For a Mediterranean beach in the Summer that is amazing. Francesco, who managed the booking, was very helpful and dealt with all enquiries very promptly. The owner, Giuseppe, welcomed us to the property when we arrived and presented us with two baskets of home grown fruit and vegetables, a bottle of wine and some orange jam made from the farm's oranges. He couldn't have been more helpful. He speaks excellent English and is extremely friendly. It is a ideal place if you want a relaxing break with your partner or family. We highly recommend Casa Eden and wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back.

Like paradise

We have been travelling around Sicilia for three weeks and we must say, the week in CASA EDEN was the most relaxing. Enjoying the fragrance of the orangegarden we lived calm days in the peaceful landscape, strolling around the coast with its beaches, the nearby nature reserve, visiting charming places like Sciacca or Sambuca or the fantastic Caltabelotta. Historical sights are also easily to reach. Signore Pontillo (perfect English speaking) takes really care of everything . He supplied us not only with complete breakfast stuff and neverending juicy sweet oranges. There is also a storage of drinking water and for cool hours an electric heater. He is a great host, always friendly and helpful. It's been a pleasure to meet him. Furthermore there was the useful support of Francesco Paolo Di Lorenzo. Perfect. Thank you both very much. Ultimate relaxing at quiet and compleet holidayhom

Arrival at the holliday home after a guide from the owner was surprisingly. Great and quiet location in the middle of agriculture land. The house in the middle of an orangeplantage was set great and looked superb. The tour with the owner, who is very kind and speaks english very well, through the house explains all. For the stay everything is in the house, the owner provided even some vegetables from his and friends land to use. We had, two persons, a great stay in the house and the surrounding area. Close to a wonderfull beach, to reach with bikes of the home, and near a natural park. At the other side of the river there is even an minor settlement with an amphiteather. The greek temples of Agrigento are not far away and when we visit it on a sunday the income was free. The house was just perfect as was the weather in the week we stayed. The owner does his best to provide a great stay, he is very kind and talks his languages. Just perfect. Thx.

extremely recommendable house and host

Our more than weloming, likeable host greeted us at our arrival with fresh self-picked fruit and home made jam from the surrounding garden as well as a bottle of local wine. The house is just beautiful. It is located in the middle of an orange plantation, with a big prodtruding roof that allows you to sit comfortably in the shade all day. There are two separate bedrooms, a bathroom and a spacy living room with in-built kitchenet. Everything was tastefully (and usefully) furnished, spotlessly clean and extremely well-kept. Even the wifi worked flawlessly. The facility is also well suited for families with kids, as there is everything from a babybed and highchair to loads of toys and a couple of high quality bicycles (one with a child's seat). We made great use of the bikes as it's only ten minutes by bike to the beautiful beach. Contact and organisation prior to our stay, with the agency as well as with the host himself was extremely well organised, helpful, cordial and just easy. We strongly recommend a stay since we had such a great time and felt extremely comfortable!

wonderful house in beautiful surrounding and extraordinarily welcoming host

We stayed at the aforementioned facility for one week in October 2016. Our extremely courteous host greeted us upon arrival with fresh and self picked fruit from his own growing area that surrounds the house as well as delicious wine and self-made marmalade. The house itself features two bedrooms with comfortable beds, one bathroom and a spacious living room with an in-built big kitchenet. Everything was extremely well-kept, absolutely clean and tastefully furnitured. The building is exceptionally beautiful with a big protruding roof that casts a cool shadow all around the house and allows you to take a refreshing nap in the shade even at hottest midday. Our toddler was delighted about the ample amount of toys provided. There were even some high quality mountainbikes (one with a baby seat) at our disposal (it's only 10 minutes by bike to the beach). We strongly recommend a stay at this house and we will surely come back someday! It's also perfect for families, with a baby bed and a high chair provided. You won't have to worry about anything - it's all there and in perfect condition. Even the WiFi worked faultlessly.

wonderful days in sicily

We (couple from Germany) stayed 11 days in Mr. Pontillos place around Easter. From the first to the last moment we felt welcome, looked after. In his friendly and hospitable way he made us feel at home. We were greeted by a basket of fruit, delicious marmalade made of his own oranges and a bottle of Sicilian wine (all of which was gorgeous). What makes this house absolutely unique is its location in the middle of a large orange orchard, Mr Pontillos property. The smell of orange blossoms is all around you, all you hear is the sound of the wind rustling through the leaves and the sea shore (a little more than 1 km away). If you are in for a quiet place and getting away from every-day hectic, you’re in the right spot. The house provides you with everything you need, even Wifi and two German channels on television (if you need that). What will be important during warmer times of the year: There is a large patio under a roof on three sides of the house, so you will find shade any time of the day. For shopping you best drive to Ribera (Seccagrande and Borgo are very quiet places at least in April. Eraclea Minoa offers you three restaurants, two of them absolutely recommendable and right on the beach (the third we didn’t try). A nature reserve around the mouth of the river Platini stretches along the coastline and consists of beautiful forest of pines and eucalyptus trees. In Eraclea Minoa you will find an archaeological park with some excavations and an ancient Greek theatre. At least as impressive is the long walk along the lines of the old fortifications. You walk right on top of the white cliff of Capo Bianco. Excellent places for trips less than an hour on the road are Caltabellotta (amazing city in the mountains), Agrigento (valley of the temples), Selinunte (Greek temples and a amazing fortified Greek city). One unexpected highlight were the Easter festivities. We watched the event in the main-street of Ribera. The whole town was watching and cheering. The atmosphere was absolutely unique. Thanks to Mr Pontillo and his father, who made our stay in Sicily a very special experience.

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit im Juli 2024. Wir sind 6 Frauen im Alter zwischen 50 und 60 Jahren. Das Haus liegt wie beschrieben abgeschieden in Orangenplantagen und ist gepflegt. Der Vermieter sehr nett. Leider gibt es nur 1 geschlossenes Schlafzimmer. Der Rest der Schlafmöglichkeiten befindet sich in einer offenen Wohn-Küche. Somit sind die Nächte nicht so ganz erholsam. Eher für nur 4 Personen oder Familien mit Kinder geeignet. Toller Naturstrand in der Nähe. Auto ist zwingend notwendig.

Rilassante e piacevole

Il nostro soggiorno è stato piacevole e rilassante. La casa immersa in un fresco aranceto ci ha consentito di riposare nella spaziosa e ben curata veranda. La casa è sufficientemente spaziosa e provvista di tutto il necessario per un soggiorno confortevole. Il proprietario è stato molto gentile, premuroso e molto attento alle nostre richieste. Al nostro arrivo abbiamo trovato quattro biciclette che abbiamo usato per andare al mare. Abbiamo anche ricevuto ottimi consigli su dove comprare e mangiare.

Wspaniały wypoczynek

Nasz pobyt trwał jedynie tydzień a mogliśmy rzeczywiście odpocząć od zgiełku miasta w otoczeniu ogrodu pełnego pomarańczy i mandarynek. Do samego domku dostawały się ogrodowe robaczki, ale jak ktoś chce spędzać czas w ogrodzie to musi się z czymś takim liczyć ;) Tak samo z dosyć trudnym dojazdem, który rekompensowany był przez spokój panujący w domku i ogrodzie. Pan Pontillo był bardzo pomocny a dwa kotki uprzyjemniły dodatkowo nasz pobyt. W pobliżu znajduję się piękna plaża, która jest pod ochroną i na której można było spotkać jedynie pojedyncze osoby. W okolicy jest pare pięknych miejsc, z których na pewno trzeba polecić Talle dei Tempi i Caltabelotta.Jeśli chodzi o pizzerie i restaurację to najlepiej zapytać właściciela. Jego wskazówki się sprawdzały. Jeśli mielibyśmy wracać na Sycylię to pewni odwiedzilibyśmy ponownie domek koło Ribera:)

Ruhe und Natur pur

Man wohnt inmitten einer Orangenplantage und hat hier absolute Ruhe. Der Vermieter oder ein Familienangehöriger ist ca. einmal am Tag vormittags vor Ort, da hinter dem Ferienhaus eine kleine Garage ist. Dies ist aber überhaupt nicht störend sondern eher hilfreich, da man immer wieder wertvolle Tips bekommt. Bei dieser Lage ist es eher angesagt selbst häufiger zu kochen als Essen zu gehen, wobei auch gute Restaurants mit dem Auto erreichbar sind. Ausser dem Vermieter sieht man vom Grundstück aus absolut niemanden mit Ausnahme von drei netten Katzen. Zwei davon sind immer am Haus, Katzen sollte man schon mögen. Um das Haus herum ist eine grosse überdachte Terasse, auf der man bei jedem Sonnenstand und jeder Windlage den richtigen Platz findet. Wer allerdings eine super ausgestattete, blitzblanke Wohnung erwartet ist falsch am Platz, die Einrichtung ist eher einfach und man muss davon aus gehen, dass auch verschiedene Kleinsttiere mal in die Wohnung finden. Unabhängig davon gebe ich 5 Sterne, da das Haus mit seiner Ruhe, der super einsame Strand sowie dem wirklich netten Vermieter ein tolles Paket sind.

Einfach wundervoll. Wir freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch. Das Haus strahlt soviel Wärme aus

Wir fühlten uns von Anfang an zuhause und gleichzeitig wie Abenteurer. Die Herzlichkeit von Familie Pontillo, die Gemütlichkeit und Schönheit dieser Oase, die himmlische Ruhe, die entzückenden Katzenkinder, die mit uns die Terrasse teilten. So schön. Und dazu die Nähe des Strandes, den wir oft für uns alleine hatten. Ein herrliches Naturschutzgebiet mit Pinienwaldgürtel und Kreidefelsen. Wenige Minuten entfernt. Eine tolle Hausausstattung, auch gute Fahrräder. Dort kann die Seele baumeln. Wir waren an diesem Ort sehr glücklich. Unvergessliche Eindrücke. In jeder Hinsicht ein Genuss. Die überdachte Terrasse ist grosszügig gestaltet wie ein Aussenwohnzimmer. So viel Platz. Der Blick in den Orangenhain. Idyllisch. Was für ein aussergewöhnliches Plätzchen Erde. Ruhe, Sonne, Wind, Zitronen

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt in dem gepflegten, sauberen Haus, das alles bot, was man zum Entspannen braucht. Auch eine Kiste mit Strandzubehör. Die zahlreichen überdachten Sitzplätze waren ideal. Das Leben fand draußen statt.Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig, man erreicht in kurzer Zeit den Strand und hört das Meer schon beim Aufwachen rauschen. Der Strand gehört zu einem Naturschutzgebiet, war nicht überfüllt und der Zugang ins Wasser angenehm. Die sehr freundlichen Gastgeber hatten uns nicht nur am Anfang leckere Zitronen hingestellt, sondern führten uns auch über die Plantage und wir wurden mit Aprikosen und Pfirsichen üppigst versorgt.Für alle Fragen, Sorgen und Nöte standen sie bei Bedarf gerne bereit. Der Standort in der Mitte Siziliens ist ideal für die Erkundung der antiken Stätte, griechischer Tempel (Eraclea Minoa, Agrigento, Selinunte), aber auch um nette Orte zu besuchen. Der Ort Boro Bonsignore bot ein tägliches Abendprogramm.

Ruhe und Erholung

Wer einen ruhigen und entspannten Urlaub fernab vom großenTouristengewimmel machen möchte, ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Wir haben Anfang April eine erholsame Woche in dem gemütlichen Haus verbracht und waren mit allem sehr zufrieden. Es steht inmitten einer schönen Orangenplantage und ist sehr ruhig gelegen. Fotos und Beschreibung sind in jeder Hinsicht authentisch. Die Lage eignet sich perfekt als Ausgangspunkt verschiedenster Aktivitäten ( Entspannung, Baden, Wandern, Besuche der antiken Stätten Selinunte, Agrigento u. Eraclea Minoa, Bergdorf Caltabelotta, Sciacca, ...). Besonders hervorheben möchten wir die natürliche Schönheit des Küstenabschnittes westlich des Capo Bianco. Grünblaues Meer, hellgelber Sand, im Hintergrund das Naturschutzgebiet und östlich die weißen Gipsklippen bei Eraclea Minoa. Der Besitzer war sehr gastfreundlich und hatte uns als Willkommensgruß Wasser, Wein, Marmelade und jede Menge Obst bereit gestellt.

Wunderschöne Unterkunkt im Grünen

Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen. Die Unterkunft liegt in Mitten einer Orangenplantage und hat einen wunderschönen und großen Außenbereich in dem es überall nette Sitzmöglichkeiten gibt. Drinnen ist es etwas kleiner (das Zimmer mit den Einzelbetten ist ein Durchgangszimmer) aber vollkommen ausreichend und sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Der Vermieter war sehr nett und hat uns immer wieder Obst vorbei gebracht und war sehr hilfsbereit. Mit dem Fahrrad (stehen zur Verfügung) ist man in ca. 10 Minuten am Strand. Der Strand liegt in einem tollen Naturschutzgebiet und war der schönste Strand den wir in unserem Urlaub auf Sizilien gesehen haben. Wir haben unsere Woche sehr genossen.
