Birdbank Cottage - Zwei Schlafzimmer Kleines Landhaus, Schläft 4
Birdbank Cottage is a gorgeous example of a luxury, dog-friendly St Ives cottage. It is sandwiched between Porthgwidden and Porthmeor Beach and St Ives Harbour. This stunning cottage is within an easy stroll of beaches, restaurants shops, galleries and cafes. Birdbank Cottage is not only dog-friendly, it has sea views and offers one generous parking space right outside the front door. It has two bedrooms; a king size bedroom with en-suite and a super-king (in width) or twin bedroom on the top floor. Both bedrooms offer fabulous sea views! There is a separate shower room with a rain head shower. Every single detail oozes luxury and the greatest of thought. The kitchen and dining area has wonderful natural light. The cottage has two sitting rooms, one leads off the kitchen and the other is a snug type living room with a wood burner. This luxury St Ives cottage is perfect for two couples sharing, a romantic couple wanting a luxurious St Ives break or a small family of four.
The kitchen is open and airy with patio doors that open up onto an enclosed courtyard with bench seating and also has a warm outdoor shower to wash the beach off before you go inside. Meals are enjoyed at a bespoke made bench with table in the kitchen. The kitchen is fully-equipped with a hob, oven, dishwasher, washer dryer, fridge/ freezer and coffee machine. A sitting room is next to the kitchen with a two-seater sofa and two occasional chairs. The snug at the back of the cottage offers a cosy zone to light a fire, curl up and read a book.
One flight of stairs takes you to the king size bedroom with its own en-suite bathroom. The en-suite has a bath with shower over, wash basin and WC. Next door to the king size bedroom is the separate shower room. It has a large shower with natural daylight flooding in from above, a wash basin and WC. The shower offers either a rainforest experience or a hand held wand for washing. Another flight of stairs takes you to a bedroom that can either be configured as twin beds or as a super king bed (in width only, the length is the same as a standard 3ft single bed). Both bedrooms offer sea views.
Outside the cottage is one generous parking space. Porthgwidden Beach with its Gastro Beach Cafe serving breakfast through to dinner is just a minute's walk from the cottage. Porthmeor Beach in front of The Tate St Ives is also really very close and will take no more than a couple of minutes to walk. Porthmeor Beach has a restaurant and cafe as well as it's home to St Ives Surf School. St Ives Harbour is a relatively level walk from Birdbank Cottage and is just a couple of minutes away.
The cottage does not provide a high chair or travel cot but these can be hired locally so please request details on booking. Towels and bed linen is provided, we ask you pack your own beach towels, dog throws and dog towels.
1 x well-behaved dog (up to 18kgs) is welcome. A pet fee applies of £50 per week which we collect from guests once the property is booked (terms and conditions apply). Please let us know the age, sex and breed when booking.
Please refer to the Rental Agreement during the payment stages on VRBO as you are entering a contract between this property owner and yourselves. VRBO cancellation and refund policies apply. We really hope that once you're on holiday you are happily self-sufficient by using this 'Essential Info' guide and also the 'Property Folder' which is a guide to your holiday home. It is where you find detailed instructions to work appliances, heating and troubleshooting if needs be (we know things may need a reset or switch off/ on again sometimes for what feels like no reason whatsoever!) Should you find yourselves with a maintenance situation that you can't resolve or a genuine emergency, please call us on 01736 806100 (our office hours are Mon to Fri 9am - 5pm and Sat 10am - 4pm) or for our out of hours maintenance service, call 07825 544615. Arrival and checking in
We will alert you of the key safe code at your check in time of 3.30pm (this check-in time is specific to this property) on the day of your arrival via the App followed by a text and then email. Please remember to have downloaded the App before you set off from home for your holiday. If your property is in an area of no reception, as long as you have downloaded the App, it will show you the key safe code at check in time. Please ensure the app is set to 'auto update' on the app store.
The keys will be placed in the key safe at the property ready for check in, so you are free to arrive at the house anytime from the check in time onwards. The key safe is located within the courtyard between the parking space and the property door, to the left of the gate as you walk in. Please always leave a key in the key safe box when you go out during your holiday in case of emergencies, thank you.
If any spillages or accidents occur during your holiday, please contact us immediately so we can attempt to rectify the issue as soon as possible. Excessive cleaning or difficult to remove stains may incur an extra charge. Equally, if you find anything on your arrival that you would like to be rectified, please do contact us as soon into your holiday as possible so we can do what we can to help. Departure and checking out
Check out is 10am and we kindly ask you to respect this in order for the changeover teams to do their jobs punctually. Please be aware that any additional costs and charges incurred due to a late check out will be passed on to the guest.
When you leave on your day of departure, please lock the door and ensure you leave a set of keys in the key safe box.
We ask that you text the housekeeper 24 hours before you leave the property to give them an estimated time of departure. You will find their contact details under the final dropdown heading on the app. It would be great if you could also confirm by text when you have left. If you can't see the housekeepers number below, please ensure the app is updated to the latest version.
It would be fantastic if you would review your stay either using the App or a review invite which will be emailed to you. Your private comments for constructive feedback is also most welcome so we can continue to improve.
N.B. On your departure at the end of your holiday, we ask you leave the property tidied (we don't mean a full clean but presentable and respectfully left for the housekeepers), outside area swept of any sand left during your stay, dishwasher emptied and all rubbish bins emptied and refuse removed from the property.
Do a last sweep of the house for left items. How to find Birdbank Cottage
Below you will have the directions and other arrival information which should get you to the front door easily.
The address of your holiday home is:
Birdbank Cottage, 7 Carncrows Street, St Ives, TR26 1PJ
What3words: steadily.shipyards.asterick
Directions to Birdbank Cottage:
• Follow the A30 until you reach the roundabout at St Erth that asks you to take the 2nd exit to St Ives on the A3074. Take this exit. • Go straight over the next two roundabouts, keeping to the right on the second roundabout into Lelant • Follow the A3074 through Lelant and Carbis Bay • Follow the road down into St Ives; passing a Tesco (your nearest drive-to supermarket…) and the Tregenna Castle on the left • On reaching the Harbour Hotel Spa, follow the road down to the right; you are now on The Terrace. Follow this road past the bus station, down into Tregenna Hill (where the shops start). Continue to follow the road towards the harbour front (you will pass a number of shops on either side of the road including Boots, Jo Downs glassware plus a few cafes) • Drive along the harbour front and when you reach The Sloop Inn on your left, turn left to drive up the hill onto Fish Street, carry straight on rather than following the bend to the left, and head toward The Mermaid Restaurant on your right at the end of the road at a T junction • At the junction, turn right and then take the second left onto Burrow Road (be careful it is a tight turning). Follow this narrow road and after you passed Carncrows Street on your right (3rd street on right), you will see a track on your right. Take this turning right along the track and your parking is at the rear of Birdbank Cottage - Number 7) Parking
The parking at the rear of Birdbank Cottage is for your use only. It can fit two medium (Seat Leon size) cars or a larger car. The manoeuvrability is the bigger concern so please do take car when parking as there may be other people parked in their house spaces which can make it a little more difficult to drive or reverse in. We strongly recommend asking for the help of a fellow guest to see you into the space safely. As always, guests parking their cars at Birdbank Cottage do so at their own risk and liability. WIFI

The router is found in the corner of the snug room, to the right of the window in a cabinet behind the television.
If internet fails, the first attempt to remedy it should be to reset the router by switching it off, waiting for a few minutes (time to put the kettle on and have a cuppa) and then switching it back on again. If the problem persists, please do let us know and we will try, together with the owner to see if it is something the internet provider can help with. If it is a problem affecting all of St Ives, I'm afraid we will be powerless to resolve the issue. Window Cleaning
The window cleaners in St Ives can start early (from 7am) in order to complete their rounds before the roads become too busy. Please be aware that the scheduled window clean may fall within your holiday dates and so you may hear
