Its beams, allegedly salvaged from shipwrecks on the notorious Doom Bar, bear ancient inscriptions and one the figurehead of a lion. This enchanting property was a favoured retreat of poet laureate Sir John Betjeman, whilst the grounds hide a secret tunnel once used by smugglers to transport their ill-gotten treasures.
Inside, the distinctive living room has one wall carved from the granite hillside, infusing the space with natural charm. It features a large wall-mounted TV, plush seating, and a wood-burning stove for cosy evenings. The dining room, which doubles as an extra living area, also has a wood-burning stove, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Polzeath village, just a five-minute flat walk away, offers boutique shops and conveniences, with parking available on the beach. The expansive golden sands are ideal for surfing or leisurely relaxation. To the north, discover Port Isaac, the fictional home of Doc Martin.
