The village is an ideal base for the northern Lakes, the market town of Keswick, as well as Lakes Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite. The natural beauty of the Solway coast, well-known for its golf courses and the town of Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth are close by, whilst also within driving distance is the cathedral city of Carlisle, Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish Borders.
