Set within the rural surrounds of old town Pollensa, C’an Bandera has an envious position of rural yet just a short stroll to a couple of shops and restaurants and a wider selection further along in old town Pollensa.
Spacious enclosed grounds incorporating a good size pool complete with barbecue casita, well-manicured gardens dotted with lemon, fig, carob and a characterfully gnarled olive tree are complemented by grassy expanses perfect for casually kicking a ball around or throwing a Frisbee. A paved driveway meanders through the grounds to the entrance of this charming stone-clad abode, revealing an ensemble of nooks, terraces, alcoves, recesses and a quirky interior layout with comfy furnishings, light airy rooms blended with stone feature walls and lofty beamed ceilings – there’s certainly ample space for everyone here to claim their very own niche to relax and shift into ‘holiday mode’.
Spread over two levels, an ornate entrance hall pans out into an open plan dining area (with stairs leading to the upper level), which in turn leads to a well-equipped farmhouse kitchen (dishwasher, oven, microwave, coffee machine, washing machine). A narrow passage leads to a downstairs bedroom and bathroom as well as a snug reading room with doors opening out onto a covered terrace offering an open-air dining option, a chillout corner ideal for regrouping over aperitifs and access to a chic sitting room (AC, TV, WiFi) fitted with large scenic windows in order to relish views of the grounds and pool. A set of open stairs (without bannister) leads to the upper level from this room also. A further twin bedroom is accessed externally from the terrace, providing a little more independence ideal for the grandparents or the teens in the group.
In essence the best views can be enjoyed by grabbing a good book and making your way to the upper level terrace where the Tramuntana Mountains reputedly steal the show. A roomy suite comprising of a bedroom with en suite facilities reveals yet another cosy spot to head for at siesta time in the form of an enclosed balcony overlooking the gardens.
