Aegean Studio with Breathtaking Views
Summary:
This beautiful Cycladic-style studio features spectacular views of Panormos Bay. Guests can enjoy a short scenic stroll to the quiet beach of Agio Sostis. This less-traveled cove off the northern coast of Mykonos is a 15-minute drive to the island's main town, but it can feel like a world away!
The Space:
The space:
The white stone typical of Cycladic architecture is reflected in the well-appointed studio's minimalist interiors. It's a relaxing, elegant accommodation with panoramic views. It feels like a soothing, cool retreat from a summer day.
If you enjoy preparing meals during your holiday, you'll appreciate the studio's compact kitchen. It is well-stocked for light meal preparation. Cooking essentials such as dishes, cutlery, pots, and pans are included. There are a two-burner cooktop, toaster, and a small refrigerator. However, we do encourage guests to try the island's world-class cuisine. Sophisticated visitors from around the world flock to Mykonos for our beaches and excellent culinary offerings!
The comfortable sleeping accommodations are ideal for two friends traveling together. There are two comfortable twin beds and bed linens and towels for guests. If you'd like to enjoy some television in bed, there is a wall-mounted unit.
The studio's contemporary aesthetic continues in the ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower.
The apartment has free WiFi and on-premise parking.
The Neighborhood:
The island has an area of 85.5 square kilometres (33.0 sq mi) and rises to an elevation of 341 metres (1,119 feet) at its highest point. It is situated 150 kilometres (93 miles) east of Athens in the Aegean Sea. The island features no rivers, but numerous seasonal streams two of which have been converted into reservoirs.
The island is composed mostly of granite and the terrain is very rocky with many areas eroded by the strong winds. High quality clay and baryte, which is a mineral used as a lubricant in oil drilling, were mined on the eastern side of Mykonos until the late 1900s.
It produces 4,500 cubic metres (160,000 cu ft) of water daily, by reverse osmosis of sea water in order to help meet the needs of its population and visitors.
The island has a population of nearly 12,500, most of whom live in the main town of Chora.
The area:
The studio overlooks the spectacular turquoise waters of Panormos Bay. The closest beach is Agio Sostis, a short walk away. The beaches along the bay are protected from the island's other northern beaches. Traditional Greek tavernas and other eateries are also nearby, but this is generally a quieter area of Mykonos. Panormos Beach has more activities than Agios Sostis.
When you're ready for a little more action or dining choices, the town of Mykonos is 15 minutes away - as is the international airport. The famous beaches of Elia and Super Paradise are about 20 minutes away.
Mykonos remains an island steeped in its traditional and cultural roots despite drawing an international, jet-set crowd. Visitors are drawn to the island's taverns, clubs, and cultural sites. The crystal clear turquoise waters and beautiful beaches are also a huge draw.
The largest town is also called Mykonos. Pedestrians can easily stroll along the labyrinth of picturesque streets in the town center, which is closed to cars. The charming streets are lined with cafes, restaurants, and upscale boutiques.
Don't miss Matoyianni Street with its white Cycladic-style buildings.
Little Venice, in the area of Charos, is home to some of the town's best restaurants. During peak summer travel months, there is a vibrant nightlife.
Here are a few Mykonos sites:
* Panayia Paraportiani
* Town hall
* Castle (above the harbor)
* The Windmills
* The Armenistis Lighthouse
* Museums: Archaeological, Folklore, and Maritime
* Matoyánni Street
* Alefkántra or "Little Venice"
* Áno Merá/historic monastery of Panayia Tourliani
* Diving
* Boat tours
* Day Trip to the Island of Delos
