Restored 1752 cottage, in the idyllic coastal town of North Queensferry.
Stay right underneath the famous Forth Rail Bridge. Base yourself here to see Edinburgh (15 mins) while enjoying the peace and serenity of the coast.
The perfect home for an escape to nature while still being a stone's throw from the city.
Walk the famous coastal path, look for seals and dolphins, or put the fire on and cozy down with a book or a movie.
The house has been fully and beautifully restored to retain its historical charm, but with all the comforts and conveniences that make it easy and enjoyable to be in.
The living room has a comfortable sofa and armchair positioned in front of the woodburning stove and the double window with view of the bridge. The stove is fully set up and easy and safe to use. The dining room has a large bench table perfect for getting everyone around for dinner (seats up to 8), or for cozying up on the window seat with a glass of wine.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas oven and stove top, dishwasher, microwave, blender, and all the crockery and cookware you might need. The combi-boiler provides instant hot water for the bath, shower and taps as well as heat throughout the house.
The main double bedroom enjoys a view of the bridge from the very comfortable double bed. The second bedroom has a daybed, large desk and also boasts beautiful views upto the bridge. The daybed can be extended into a king bed for additional guests.
The upstairs bathroom has a powerful shower and claw-footed bath tub. Many hours can be lost in the comfortable bath with a book or even your ipad propped up on the bath-bar. Arguably the best room in the house! Downstairs there is a second toilet for convenience.
Bikes, surfboards, SUPs etc can be stored in the entry-porch to keep them safe but out of the way. The house has parking space for one car directly outside, with more free parking near by.
Make the most of the historical sites in the village such as the old lighthouse (tours available) Deep Sea World Aquarium, and of course the beautiful coastal path.
Eat in the mitchellin star Wee Restuarant, have a big breakfast in Rankine's cafe, or walk over the road bridge to South Queensferry for more pubs and restaurants.
Nip into Edinburgh on the train (15 munites, 2 stops) from the station which is 5 minutes walk away. Or explore the East Neuk of Fife, St Andrews or Perth which are not far away.
You'll have the whole house.
My beloved home will be available while I am travelling overseas - there will be a few of my things still in the house but plenty of space for yours.
We will leave enough wood for your first nights fire. The rest will be up to you to bring/buy. We can provide wood at £10 a bag.
Please help yourself to any pantry items in the cupboard.
North Queensferry is on the southern end of the popular Fife Coastal Path, which is one of Scotland’s Great Trails and a signed long distance route between Kincardine and St Andrews. Follow the Fife Coastal Path to the east side of the village to reach the nature reserve at Carlingnose Point to watch wildlife and enjoy great views of the Firth of Forth.
The pier at North Queensferry is home to Queensferry Light Tower, the smallest one in the world of its kind that is still in use. Head to the pier to take a look and find out about its fascinating history. Until the opening of the Forth Road Bridge in 1964, the pier was the main port for ferries crossing the Forth.
These days, boats set off from North Queensferry to tour the bridges, wildlife, and the islands of the Forth.
An easily walkable village, with access to the nature reserve and fife coastal path just accross the road. The train station means you can get to Edinburgh city centre in 15 mins, but there are also buses to the city. There is no parking directly outside the property due to access restrictions, however there is free parking available on Main Street which is a two-minute walk away.

Frequently asked question:
Can you hear the trains going overhead?
Yes, but they are not disruptive. Commuter trains stop overnight to minimise noise, but none of us notice it anyway!
