Silks & Sails, Harbourside Holiday Cottage
Silks & Sails offers a peaceful and comfortable retreat for visitors looking to enjoy the seaside town of Weymouth. The two bedroom holiday cottage is located in an elevated position overlooking Weymouth Harbour and the English Channel. Set within a terrace of traditional and characterful houses, the picturesque setting is perfect for guests looking for a relaxing stay in the heart of Weymouth whatever the weather.
The layout of Silks & Sails it traditional of a property of this age, with a ground floor living room to the front of the house. The living room is characterful and bright, with large bay window with sea glimpses to the East, sanded wooden floorboards and feature fireplace. Just next door is a 'snug' room, which can be used as a home office, games room or reading room. Through to the back of the house is the newly fitted gally kitchen, complete with integrated appliances including dishwasher, washing machine, fridge / freezer, fan oven and electric hob. A light and airy dining area adjoins the kitchen, with an extendable dining table and seating for four. A door leads from the dining area to the enclosed rear garden, set over two tiers, with outside dining table and planted pots.
The most impressive room in the house has to be the master bedroom, primarily down to the stunning views from the bay window over Weymouth Harbour and the English Channel beyond. This bedroom features a King size bed, along with sanded wooden floors, feature fireplace and seating from where you can admire the coastal views. Just next door is the second bedroom, with a pair of single beds, storage and a window overlooking the garden. There is also a newly fitted bathroom suite on this floor, with freestanding roll top bath, a large walk in shower, wash hand basin with mirror above and W.C. There is also a separate cloakroom with W.C. and wash hand basin just next door.
Parking contribution of £15 to all bookings, as a gesture from the owner. Parking is available for a limited amount of cars on street in front of the property, and in nearby residential streets. There is also a metered car park just a short walk away, the owner of this property will contribute £15 towards your car parking fees if you have to park in the nearby car park (please keep receipt). On street parking in front of the property - In keeping with its traditional setting and tranquillity of the location, access to the cul de sac is down a narrow alley, and is better suited to smaller cars or those who are confident to reverse in or out of the alley.
Well behaved pets welcome!
Weymouth Harbour features a vibrant waterfront area lined with colourful buildings, cafes, restaurants, and shops. It serves as a hub for recreational boating, with numerous pleasure craft, yachts, and fishing boats moored along the quayside. Visitors can take leisurely walks along the promenade, enjoying the scenic views and watching boats come and go. The harbour is also home to Weymouth's iconic lifting bridge, known as the Town Bridge, which spans the entrance to the inner harbour. The bridge opens periodically to allow boats to pass through, creating a fascinating spectacle for onlookers. With its picturesque setting, lively atmosphere, and historical significance, Weymouth Harbour is a delightful place to visit, whether you're seeking a leisurely stroll, a taste of fresh seafood, or a glimpse into the town's maritime heritage. The cottage is well situated for exploring the local area, and lies within easy reach of the The Jurassic Coast UNESCO world heratige site, and is just 5 miles from the county town of Dorchester.

Drive into Weymouth following signs for the harbour, you'll reach ASDA - continue up boot hill and stay on Portland Rd until you reach the 2nd set of traffic lights - turn left into Rodwell Avenue. Follow the road until you reach Newberry Road (at the bottom of the hill on the left). Turn up into Newberry Road, park here if you can. Once parked up, walk to the top of Newberry Rd, turn left into St Leonards Rd, and then first right and you'll see the pub 'Chapelhay Tavern' in front of you. Walk past the Tavern Pub down to Trinity Terrace, and the cottage will be on your right hand side in the row of cottages.
