On the first Saturday in July the Invergarry Highland Games take place, plus the Great Glen Way passes through Invergarry allowing walkers to travel from Fort William to Inverness without ever setting foot on a road. Within driving distance is Fort Augustus, which is set at the southwest end of Loch Ness, on a stretch of the Caledonian Canel, and offers a number of shops, pubs and restaurants, whilst other places to visit in the area include the towns of Fort William and Aviemore
