This charming cottage is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty within the Lake District National Park, situated between the enchanting Lake Windermere and the tranquil waters of Esthwaite.
The Space:
Originally the stables of The Old Vicarage, Jemima Cottage has been expertly converted into a stunning barn-style extension. From large expansive windows, you can enjoy breathtaking views down the valley towards Near Sawrey, Grizedale Forest, and the majestic Old Man of Coniston range.
The name of our cottage was inspired by one of Beatrix Potter's beloved characters from the Peter Rabbit series. Be sure to visit Hill Top, the author's former home, which is just a leisurely walk away in the charming village of Near Sawrey.
What sets Jemima Cottage apart is its peaceful location on the edge of the village of Far Sawrey. The property boasts its own private field, which is being lovingly transformed by the owner into a wild meadow with fruit and nut tree orchards. Feel free to explore this serene space, which offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area.

And when it's time to dine, you'll find a local pub and restaurant just 150 yards from your doorstep, with another traditional lakeland pub in Near Sawrey.
Cumbria has become a renowned destination for food enthusiasts, boasting several Michelin-starred restaurants and numerous other top-quality dining establishments. Indulge your taste buds with culinary delights after a day of hiking or exploring.
Jemima Cottage offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The master bedroom features a sumptuous king-size bed with a Hypnos Orthopedic mattress, guaranteeing a restful night's sleep. Large, dual-aspect windows flood the room with natural light and offer captivating views in both directions. You'll also find a contemporary designer freestanding bath and washbasin, creating a relaxing spa-like ambiance in the bedroom.
The spacious open plan lounge, dining, and kitchen area boasts exposed oak beams and a high-pitched ceiling. Unwind in front of the wood-burning stove after a day of adventure, or prepare a romantic gourmet meal in the fully equipped kitchen. It's perfect for a leisurely morning breakfast or a quick snack before your next outing.
A convenient ground floor bathroom features a contemporary shower and a heated towel rail, providing everything you need for a comfortable stay.
