Situated in one of the most prestigious tourist areas of Funchal, this apartment is close to a pleasant promenade, beaches, supermarkets, pharmacies, stores and the Forum Madeira shopping centre, which has several international brands and movie theaters.
Nearby there are several bars and restaurants where you can delight yourself with our gastronomy or with international cuisine. Besides the nearby options, you can go to Funchal city center (seven minutes by car) where you will find a larger variety of restaurants.
Praia Formosa beach is about five hundred meters away from the apartment, perfect for diving and sunbathing on the pebble and black sand.

GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.
There is a bus stop 2 minutes walk from the apartment.

OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.

Lots of issues to address

The view was good. The location was good. The check-in process was absolutely dreadful, as was the communication with the company regarding anything that needed attention.

Excellent holiday property

The property is highligy recomended. Ideal location, close to the water and Funchal. Clean and tidy apartment with all facilities a family of 5 needed. Staff were prompt in answering quries, the online system was easy to use too.

Lots of issues to address

There was a miscommunication for check-in. The process took over two hours and the property manager couldn't get the keys to work. This was After travelling all day, it took us two hours to check into the property The employee pretty much just shrugged their shoulders at the experience. One of the issues was that the employee could not get the key to work. We eventually got it to work ourselves and they sent a maintenance person to look at it and they said we should just use it in a certain way not always reliable so we spent two weeks fighting with this door lock. For each communication with the company, there was absolutely no accountability for any issues that we were having. The accommodations we were OK and Madeira is stunning. I would go back but stay at another location..

Poor experience -- would not recommend

There were a number of inconveniences with this place, which led to a disappointing and frustrating stay in Madeira. Most notably, communication from staff is poor and do not provide much thoughtfulness or care in making sure your stay is enjoyable. Some of minor inconveniences include: - the fans they provide smell of dust or mold, despite the office saying they are new - you are a bit farther away from the beach than you would think from the pictures; not a huge deal but ~ 6-10 minute walk since you have to follow the road down the hill - the wi-fi is flagged on apple products for poor security; just as an FYI - it is extremely confusing and difficult to find the location This is just a short list of some of the inconveniences, which make this location less desirable than we initially thought. The biggest inconvenience was when we were told that the building was going to be shutting off our water all morning till early afternoon. An Island Apart does not own the building and said the maintenance was out of their control. While this is understandable, there was a complete lack of understanding or consideration from An Island Apart. After saying they would look into the matter, they stopped responding to any and all future messages of mine, which reflects pretty poorly to say the least. If you are coming to Madeira to relax and be comfortable, give your money towards places and people that actually care about your time on the island. Future travelers should stay away

Do not stay with An Island Apart

There were a number of small and significant inconveniences with this apartment, which led to a disappointing and frustrating stay in Madeira. Most notably, communication from staff is poor and do not suggest much thoughtfulness or care in making sure your stay is as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. Some of the minor inconveniences include: - the fans they provide smell of dust or mold, despite the office saying they are new - you are a bit farther away from the beach than you would think from the pictures; not a huge deal but ~ 6-10 minute walk since you have to follow the road down the hill - to our knowledge, the tv is only usable if you connect an HDMI cable; there is otherwise no television - the wi-fi is flagged on apple products for poor security; just as an FYI - it is extremely confusing and difficult to find the location (the address was not helpful for all the GPS software we used); there was no advance notice of how to reach the location until immediately This is just a short list of some of the inconveniences, all of which make this location less desirable than we initially thought. Séjour à Praia Formosa

Une superbe expérience. La situation géographique de l'appartement appréciable, car plage accessible à pied. L'accès aux commerces très facile, mais un peu éloigné sans voiture. La vue sur le littoral exceptionnelle. Notre séjour ne nous a laissé que de très bons souvenirs. Le retour à l'appartement chaque soir était très apprécié, le bruit des vagues berçant nos soirées.
