Rose Cottage is one of 6 holiday cottages converted from farm buildings. Located in the heart of Exmoor within walking distance across the fields of Wheddon Cross village which has a welcoming pub and shop. Local landmarks include Dunkery Beacon, Dunster medieval village, Tarr Steps and Porlock

Description:
Nestled facing east, Rose Cottage offers views across the pretty Little Quarme gardens. It has its own secure garden furnished with outdoor seating. Nearby parking is accessible up a set of garden steps.
Interior Highlights:
Lounge: Furnished with a three-seater sofa, a two-seater sofa, a rustic pine dining table with 4 chairs (more can be provided if you have guests), and a stone fireplace with an electric effect log fire. Entertainment is catered for with a 32″ TV with Freeview and a DVD player. Dual radiators ensure warmth.
Kitchen: Equipped with pine cabinets and dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge freezer, microwave, and electric stove. Dishwasher powder, washing up liquid, surface cleaner, tea towels and soap powder are supplied.
1st Floor: Double bedroom and a twin bedroom off the landing. Beds are made up with fresh cotton linen.. The landing and bathroom in addition to the bedrooms, are heated with radiators. The bathroom has a bath, overhead shower, towels, and loo rolls.
Amenities:
The cottage benefits from gas central heating throughout.
WiFi is available inside the cottage and in the adjacent barn/games room.
Additional Information:
All guests are provided with an online app which gives full information about Little Quarme, optional items that we can provide and our recommendations for places to visit, local pubs and restaurants etc.

Outdoor Description
All guests have access to two acres of gardens including a lily pond, lawn with picnic tables, giant BBQ and games room with table tennis, small pool table and table football. In the summer we set up croquet on the lawn and football goals in the field. There is car free access across our fields to the bridleways and footpaths of Exmoor National Park.

Pets Description
Dogs - We ask that dogs are kept off the furniture (even with a rug) and are not allowed upstairs or in bedrooms please.
Horses – For horses we offer DIY grass keep for £25 per stay (up to a week). Do get in touch to discuss your specific needs.
Restricted mobility
Due to the sloping nature of the site unfortunately we don't recommend Little Quarme for wheelchair users.
Exit in case of emergency
Safety instructions will be provided in our online welcome book sent to you upon booking. If you would like to see a copy of our Fire Risk Assessments please get in touch. There is one exit from the cottage out of the front door. There is one ground floor window which could be used as an escape route should the main exit be blocked.

Wheddon Cross is a village in the parish of Cutcombe in the heart of Exmoor, based around the crossroads; the roads run from north to south between Minehead and Dulverton, and east to west between Taunton and North Devon. The village is argued to be the highest on Exmoor, standing at 980 feet above sea level, and the highest point on Exmoor, Dunkery Beacon (1704 feet above sea level) is the focal point of the village. Dunkery Beacon is about three miles from the village, there are fantastic panoramic views from Dunkery; wild moorland to the west, the Bristol Channel and Wales to the north, the rolling Brendon Hills to the east and the Quarme Valley to the south.
In recent years the village has become famous for the abundance of snowdrops in the nearby valley which has become known as 'Snowdrop Valley'. The snowdrops bloom around February and is often referred to as a "carpet of snowdrops"!
Wheddon Cross is surrounded by beautiful countryside; open moorland, wooded valleys and farmland. An abundance of wildlife can often be seen, including Exmoor ponies and red deer. There are a number of great walks along marked footpaths and bridleways, including the famous Coleridge Way which passes through.
Wheddon Cross is a thriving community and offers many local services for a small village. The village shop is a well-stocked mini-supermarket incorporating a Post Office counter, petrol pumps, cash point machine and has good opening hours. The Rest & Be Thankful Inn is the village pub which serves food and is child and dog friendly. The village also has a first school, church, playing field, public conveniences, and various bus services.
Minehead is the nearest town, approximately 9 miles away. Here you will find the larger supermarkets and petrol stations (Tesco and Morrison's are both situated on the outskirts of the town), high street banks with cash machines, plus a range of other shops, cafes and restaurants, etc throughout the town
