Fantastic cabin getaway

This is our third visit to the McCormicks Cabin! We love this little off-the-grid cabin in the woods. Just the right place for our family to get away and unplug and enjoy life together. Mike was attentive and great to work with - we will be going back!

Simply beautiful

This spot was truly worth the drive to get there. The cabin itself was very well maintained. A great place to unplug, decompress and have a fun family vacation. Owners were quick to respond to my questions, and I highly recommend.

Beautiful setting. Would’ve been nice to have towels and linens provided. No phone or internet can be seen as a plus or minus. Use of canoes, kayak, row boat was awesome. Very private. Great games

So peaceful

Very nice, as fishermen, my brother and I loved the decor theme of the house. But everyone settled into a great state of relaxation. The lack of internet service turned out to be a key ingredient here - all reported much better sleep. Yes, we all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

amazing fishing, peaceful getaway

this property is so unique and beautiful, it’s private and big. if you’re looking for a retreat where you’re not on top of your neighbors, this is also the place! my husband and boys caught so many fish that they lost count! this has never happened to us before! Mike was so accommodating and kind to greet us. This place truly has it all. I was so worried at fist about not having wifi or cell service but that ended up being just what the doctored ordered. Had a surprise show from some fighter jets training during the week, that was so cool to see. highly recommend!!

Great time

I just had a fishing getaway with three friends here and it was just about perfect. The owners were friendly and made the whole process smooth. They clearly take pride in taking care of this place. The cabin was the perfect blend of nice and comfortable. There’s good parking and easy access to boats and docks. There are a number of pretty places to just sit and be, rejoicing in the fact your phone is now just a camera. Some people might not like the no-WiFi bit, but I loved it. That’s why you’re going away to a lake. Oh. And the fishing was fantastic. Bring lots of 1/4 oz jig heads and two inch Mister Twisters. Nice cabin. I’d go back for sure.

The perfect oasis.

My husband and two sons met his brother’s family for a relaxing few days in the woods. The cabin a beautifully situated with a gorgeous view of the lake. We got a lot of use out of the plethora of watercraft, floating dock, amazing fire pit. Mike provided the firewood too! We enjoyed watching a beaver family hard at work every evening. The cabin itself had all the comforts of home… minus tv and internet..: which was actually perfect since it gave us the opportunity to unplug and unwind. Thank you for a wonderful visit. The owners were helpful and kind. Highly recommend!

Unplugged retreat

We really enjoyed our vacation at this cabin. We had no reception which was exactly what we hoped for, unplugged and peaceful. Beautiful Lake views every morning followed by full days of water fun. My kids really loved the paddle Boat and jumping off the floating dock. With the darkness and gravel road, we opted to cook dinner at the cabin each night, and then enjoy s’mores at the fire pit.

Fun and Relaxation

Remote, but still plenty to do. The kids had a blast with the docks and swimming and boating. Everyone had a good time and fun fishing. Board games were nice for evening entertainment. Leave the electronics at home and enjoy nature and each other. Had to leave early so didn't get to use everything, but there were horseshoes and a basketball net as well. We'll be looking to stay here again for sure.

Just beautiful!

The cabin is the perfect getaway for unwinding and unplugging. And minus the BYO towels and bedding you’re told to bring, the McCormicks have thought of everything, from charcoal to cooking tools, silverware and paper towels to TP. 😄 Let it be known, though, this is not the Christmas Drive you’d ask Santa for! It’s a rough, unfinished road, to say the least. In fact, we made sure to plan our trips into town very strategically to limit our drive time. Too, as someone here mentioned, access to the waterfront is a bit of a steep walk. All that being said, we had an amazing time inside the home and hope your family has as much fun here as we did!

We had fun exploring the property and lake. Having 2 little ones without any phone service made me a little nervous in case of emergencies. Luckily that was a non-issue. It was very nice to unplug and enjoy the great outdoors.

Family vacation

Great vacation for family of 11 with ages ranging from 2-65! Something for everyone! Loved swimming in the lake, kayaking, fishing and the paddle boat was a hit! Cabin was clean and accommodations were exactly what we needed. A beautiful peaceful property for a wonderful get away!

Beautiful!!!!!

This property was absolutely amazing!! My family and I had a wonderful week. The cabin was perfect, spacious, clean, and the kitchen was fully stocked for all our needs. The fishing was great and the weather was perfect the entire week. The fire pit was a great way to spend our evenings just relaxing. I would definitely consider coming back! The lack of wifi and cell phone service was absolutely needed to just let go for a few days. A total stress free week…highly recommend staying here!

Exceptional weekend away

Had a very nice trip to the camp with some friends for a weekend away. We arrived and everything was very clean and well kept. Did some fishing, golfing, cornhole, grilling etc. the camp is at the end of a very isolated road so we did take nightly drives to check in with families due to a lack of service but that was ultimately the whole goal of the trip, to get away and unwind anyway (the drive was less than a couple minutes to the top of a hill on the way in) . Overall we had a great weekend and would recommend this property to anyone seeking some time away from their busy lives while enjoying the wonders of nature atop a beatiful secluded lake.

Private and relaxing

We had a wonderful time at mikes cabin. Very clean and private. Weather wasn’t perfect but we all managed to stay busy and entertained. Was a bit of a walk to water but not awful. Would recommend this place to anybody who wants a secluded unplugged experience to enjoy with family
