This picture-perfect cottage is ideal for a break in the countryside. There is a little fenced garden area with seating in front of cottage with tables and chairs. The front door leads directly into the living room and through to the kitchen, bathroom and large and airy bedroom. There is private parking and the beach is just 10 minutes’ walk away.
Dairy Cottage is a little thatched hideaway by the sea 15 minutes' drive from Arundel. The cottage has a spacious living room with TV and sofa, the kitchen has oven, 2 ring hob, microwave and ½ size dishwasher. Please be aware that there is an ice machine but no freezer (there is a separate ice making machine). The kitchen table seats up to 4 guests. The shower room also has a sink and toilet. Heating is on from 7am-10am and 4pm-10pm extra hours heating can be accommodated by prior arrangement for an additional cost.
There is a pretty bedroom with 2 single beds on the ground floor and up the spiral staircase is a lovely light bedroom under the eaves. The private garden area has comfortable outside seating and BBQ.
This cottage is not suitable for young children because of the steep and winding staircase: the minimum age for guests is 6 years old. Dogs are most welcome (stays of 3-7 nights additional charge £25 and for each subsequent week) but they are not allowed on furniture or to be left in the cottage on their own. This property is not suitable for dogs that can be aggressive with other dogs or with people. Please let me know ahead of your booking date if you plan to bring your 4 legged friend. No cats please.
Dairy Cottage is 5 minutes from the train stations of Ford and Littlehampton but it is in a totally tranquil spot down a small country lane. You can take lovely country walks along the coast directly from the cottage and dogs are allowed on the beach year round.
Climping beach is stony at high tide with large sandy swathes at low tide. Behind the beach is a large grassed area for ball games and there is a traditional café for a cuppa. For a more formal afternoon tea, special meal out or an afternoon’s pampering at the spa, Bailiffs Court is very close by in Climping.
Nearby Arundel Castle (open April – October) is a must-see and there is an imposing cathedral, museum, shops, cafes and restaurants in the tiny but bustling town of Arundel. There are a multitude of National Trust houses and gardens in the area, Goodwood is about 20 minutes’ drive and walking in the South Downs is spectacular.
