Bowen-Buscarlet (Large suite) at Bicester Heritage

Set within the site of the former RAF Bicester WW2 bomber training station, the Bowen-Buscarlet Suite is steeped in history while also providing a chic and modern space to unwind. Whether you are exploring the countryside, on a shopping spree at Bicester Village or experiencing Silverstone, this is a great place to relax, slow-down and enjoy everything that the atmospheric location has to offer.

Building 82, The Power House, was created in 1926 to distribute water and electricity around the base, and is now home to the four Crew Rooms, named after former station commanders who were awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. Not only is Building 82 steeped in war time history, but blockbuster The Imitation Game was also filmed at this location, where Alan Turing’s Enigma machine was placed as it churned through combinations.

With exposed brickwork and high ceilings, you could mistake this property for a high end New York loft apartment. The Bowen-Buscarlet Suite is the biggest of the four units in Building 82, although all are great spaces should you wish to come with friends or family. Walk in through your own entrance off the Western Avenue to an open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area with everything you will need for your stay including cooking equipment, a cooker, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine.

The double bedroom and ensuite shower room are modern and fresh with a comfortable bed and powerful shower. This suite has a connecting (but lockable!) door to the Rotheram Suite, should you wish to use it.

With hints of Art Deco design and nods to the site’s RAF heritage, this is a wonderful place to soak up the atmosphere of this former RAF base. If you fancy keeping local after a long day’s exploring, Sky Wave Gin bar and the Wriggly Monkey Brewery are just a stone’s throw from the front door. Also, keep your eyes out for the awesome range of super or classic cars on your doorstep!
