Most of the surrounding old town of Whitby has changed very little over the centuries, making the route to the cottage down the cobbles lined with little independent cafés and shops, as well as olde world pubs, a charming experience almost like stepping back in time. Whitby captures the heart of many of its guests with its fascinating seafaring history as well as its photogenic views.
Stepping inside Noble’s Cottage you have the kitchen which is open plan with the dining area, here you can rustle up all of your family favourites. The living room is separate, with a gas wood burner ensuring you have cosy nights. The ground floor also benefits from the added convenience of a toilet. There is a second TV in this room as well as an Xbox for younger family members. There is a kingsize bedroom on this floor, again with spectacular sea views, as well as a twin bedroom. The family bathroom is well presented with a bath with a shower over, as well as a separate shower. On the second floor there is a spacious family bedroom with both a kingsize bed and a single, with elevated breath-taking views over the town, harbour, and sea.
You can watch the world go by from the cottage, with boats sailing out into the open sea, and people exploring the opposite west cliff with the Captain Cook Monument and the whale bone archway. Throughout all of the seasons the views are captivating, watch in awe as the waves crash and foam from the warmth and calm of this haven or be enticed outside when the sun’s rays sparkle on the seas surface. Throughout the day the tides ebb and flow revealing the beach just 150 yards away. Tate Hill Sands were according to Bram Stoker is where Dracula arrived, when a ship of deceased sailors crashed onto the shore and in the form of a dog Dracula fled the ships ruins and raced up the nearby 199 steps to the iconic gothic Whitby Abbey perched on the headland. From here he had panoramic views and could choose his next victims. Many guests love the dark stories that surround Whitby, from Dracula to the ghost walks, and the annual Goth Weekends draw thousands of visitors from around the world. For history lovers there is much to see and do, with museums including Captain Cook’s and the Lifeboat’s. Plus, along this heritage coastline you can find many fossils as well as the precious black jet, which is used to create beautiful unique jewellery here. Explore further by taking a ride on the steam train out into the North York Moors National Park or follow the coastline to discover some of the wonderful bays and coastal villages including Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick Bay and Staithes. Beach 150 yards.
The properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 11 guests.
