Escape to a romantic getaway in the Sanderling with its king sized bed, overlooking Beadnell Bay. With its cosy log burner to keep you snug and warm after a dip in the Wood Fired Hot Tub. If that is not enough, the stunning glass ceiling above the bed enables you to continue star-gazing long into the night. From inside and outside you can enjoy stunning views across Beadnell bay and Seahouses. The Sanderling is situated on the outskirts of Beadnell Village with views across the fields towards the sea.

Fantastic views

Sanderling is in a great position with wonderful views. We enjoyed walking to the village and along the beaches. The salt water cafe and the courtyard cafe are both dog friendly and serve great food.Relaxing in the hot tub on a clear night watching the stars was an amazing experience. We'll definitely return to Beadnell, it's a beautiful place and very welcoming.

Perfect location. Perfect accommodation

Found the app very useful for all information prior to our break away. Easy to find and a great location close enough to walk into Beadnell along the footpath yet far enough out to enjoy peace and quiet. Everything you could need and more in the shepherds hut and a great use of space. We found the bed really comfortable and with the word burner kit we were more than toasty warm. So nice to have the glass ceiling to look at the stars and made the shepherds hut feel light and bright. The shower is amazing and powerful and a very enormous size bathroom. The enclosed garden was secure and private and the hot tub was amazing. Enjoyed sitting in it both evenings even the rain didn’t spoil it. Loved the Prosecco and local chocolate what a nice touch as well as dog treats for our dog. We had a brilliant weekend and would definitely recommend and look forward to rebooking.

Anniversary break

First time using this kind of accommodation so wasnt sure what to expect. Lovely. Warm, quirky, clean, and just our cup of tea haha. Lovely touch with the chocolate and the fizz. Hot tub a nice touch amd thankfully with a beautiful day that we had perfect for stargazing. Managing to see a few shooting stars and satellites. Not alot to complain about really. Maybe not that accurate about how close the beaches were but had a wonderful 180* view from cabin and able to see the lighthouse in the nightime. Check in easy. In a nustshell, wonderful break away

Wonderful getaway

This is such a special place everything is so well organised and it is so relaxing the whole process from booking the stay and checking out is so easy and personal- we love this place and thank you once again for a special relaxing break!!

Can't wait to come back!

We had a truly wonderful time at the Sanderling. Perfect location, just ten minutes walk from Beadnell village and bay, and the hut itself is gorgeous! Watching the stars through the skylight above the bed whilst the log burner warmed the room... absolutely magical. Lots of thoughtful touches... jigsaws, hot water bottles, books about stargazing. And the views are spectacular! Can't remember the last time I felt so relaxed, just sitting outdoors by the fire pit, watching the night skies. Can't recommend it enough, and can't wait to come back!

Great accommodation and location

Lovely shepherds hut. Great decor. Really comfortable. Amazing double shower. Lovely Prosecco and chocolate bar as a special treat. Great views, especially the stars. Really easy to walk to Beadnell village. Would highly recommend.

Fabulous

I had a gift voucher as a birthday present and spent a couple of nights in the Sanderling it was great . Small and compact with everything you could need. Only a short walk to Beadnell, which offered choices of places to eat and a gorgeous beach. Then back for a glass of fizz in the hot tub - just lovely.

Weekend escape

Shepherds retreat doesn’t disappoint. A gorgeous shepherds hut, with everything you need to escape from it all. Cosy and quaint, with log fire inside and wood fire hot tub outside. Such a relaxing experience and one we are looking forward to repeating. Thank you to Sam and her team for making the experience so wonderful

Perfection

The most perfect place to celebrate our 1st year anniversary. We really enjoyed the hot tub with the lovely views. The shepherd hut had everything we needed and felt very premium. The best place to unwind, We will definitely be back.

Wonderful Stay

Had a lovely couple of nights in Sanderling. Got lucky with the weather, so made the most of the hot tub and beautiful views. Only things I'd mention that could be improved upon was the wi-fi (we couldn't access, but mobile 4G was generally good, so no massive concerns) and the hut warms up quite a bit in the sun. To combat that, we had the main doors open but then the place gets filled with flies and other bugs, so a fly screen would come in handy. Aside from that, we had a great stay and would recommend.

July weekend in the Sanderling.

Shepherds Retreat was a quirky Shepherds Hut in a good location. Although starting to get alittle tired to the pictures shown on website. We had great weather however this came with alot of flies therefore it was flie gazing rather than star gazing. Fly spray was provided but spraying alot came with a smell. We had a lovely BBQ on the Saturday night. A pair of scissors would have been handy within utensils, but managed to cut meat using the knife. Then had breakfast following morning at the landing and evening meal at Craster Arms lovely food. Then it started to rain, would have been great if there had be a gazebo or some type of cover to sit outside and look at the amazing views . So we decided to just pack up and travelled home on Saturday evening.. Floyd my little black pug loved the beach & had his paddling pool but couldn't manage to get up and door the stairs to the hut with the gaps be mindful for smaller dogs. Hot tub had green limescale in therefore we were in & out. Just a few things would have made it alittle better ie a flie net on the door to try and prevent so many flies. The bed was covered in dead flies with using spray. Procecco & chocolate a lovely touch. Stay was far from perfect but we enjoyed the Northumberland coast visiting Seahouses, Bamburgh.

Everything you need

Our 2 night stay at the Sanderling was wonderful. It was super cosy and we especially enjoyed the hot tub. It was a real activity keeping the fire alight and waiting for the water to heat. We also did plenty of walking in the local area. A beautiful place to end our 2 week tour of Scotland and North England.

Beautiful

Hi, We did enjoy our stay very much and will return again but possibly to the other shepherds hut as it looks like you can access the bed from both sides. This is only a problem when you are of a certain age or have a bad back. I struggled to get past my boyfriend through the middle of the night (to much lager). I think that in the description it might be helpful to let customers know that the bed is of a certain height and that there is a large step up to it. There is a leak that started to drip onto myself once it started to rain in the morning. I also hadn't realised that the bed was so high. The hot tub was amazing soooo relaxing. Thanks for all the little touches that just make it perfect.

Perfect weekend break in the sun

We stayed here for 2 nights in June and were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The shepherds hut is absolutely gorgeous, quite spacious and has everything that you could need. The bed is so comfy (I was tempted to ask where everything was from so I could buy for myself!!). The location is perfect and provides beautiful views over fields and you can see the sea. Just a 10/15 minute walk from the local pub. We enjoyed spending time in the hot tub which was very clean and quite easy to light. The wall around the property made us feel at ease that our dog could roam around and not escape. Our weekend was 10/10 and we will definitely be booking again! Thank you so much for such a relaxing stay.

A magical place to stay

The Sanderling is a magical place to stay: 15 minutes walk or 3 minutes to cycle into Beadnell. Orientated that it gets a lovely sunset as you sit outside, and a lovely outlook across the fields to the coast. Such a charming wee space, but actually has everything that you need and super comfy. Good outside seating, and hot tub is lovely. Owners are super efficient and friendly. Super handy for exploring the best of the Northumberland coast - central for going north to Bamburgh and Holy Island, or heading south to Craster and Alnmouth. Only downside is a little road noise, but don't let that put you off - I'd go back to this place in a heartbeat, I had the best couple of nights. Highly recommended.

Short stay

Gorgeous stay! The weather was fabulous so we spent a lot of time in the garden. Pizza oven used outside, and we sat around the fire until the sun went down watching the sea in the distance. Plenty of dog friendly cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The shepherds hut had everything we needed for a short stay, the hot shower was bliss! We will return

Outstanding

I booked this as a mini honey moon for my nephew and his wife as a wedding gift. Both were extremely happy and loved everything about it. Warm comfortable and was equipped with everything to make their stay perfect. Location was ideal as both love walking finished off in the hot tub. Both can’t wait to book up and visit again. Very accommodating hosts who are on hand and very supportive regarding checking in and out, and what’s on offer in the local area.
