Town: The town of Blandford Forum, in the county of Dorset in England, sits on the banks of the Stour River. After a fire most of the town was rebuilt in the 18th century, at which time it acquired its distinctive Georgian style. To rebuild the town's historic core, King George II provided funding, and local architects John and William Bastard were commissioned to create new plans. Each year during the first week of May, Blandford hosts the Georgian Fayre, a celebration of the town's Georgian past that features talks, reenactments, music, and dancing.
