Die Forbes'Residence wurde kürzlich von der bekannten Innenarchitektin Emily Black in Edinburgh umgebaut und ist in einem eleganten, zeitgenössischen schottischen Stil gehalten. Sie bietet Platz für bis zu acht Erwachsene.

Dieses luxuriöse Zuhause verfügt über original kanadische Holzböden, detailliertes Gesims, eine Steinplatte-Küche und wunderschöne Kamine. Es bietet einen Einblick in das Leben eines wohlhabenden Kaufmanns des 19. Jahrhunderts - ein schönes Beispiel für georgianische Architektur von seiner besten Seite.

Vom Zinnhirschkopf im Salon über die Lachsfischtapete in der Küche bis hin zum „Hauch von Disteln“, die die geräumigen Zimmer schmücken, strömen Ambiente und Sinn für Geschichte aus jeder Ecke und jedem Winkel in diesem Gebäude aus dem 18. Jahrhundert zuvor Heimat der schottischen Künstlerin Anne Redpath.

Das Hotel liegt nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß vom historischen Stadtzentrum entfernt. Absolutely fabulous

This place exceeded our expectations in every way. It is beautifully furnished, warm, and friendly. The beds were really comfortable, wonderful kitchen amenities, We love to cook and it was perfect. We would highly recommend this place to anyone. It is close to lots of great restaurants and shops. If we ever get back to Edinburgh, we will want to stay here.

Amazing authentic Edinburgh experience

Fantastic property to stay in with family near some great parts of Edinburgh! The flat was roomy and well appointed with anything you could need. The host was super communicative and accommodating as well. All in all, we would absolutely stay here again given the chance.

A memorable stay

We had a fantastic stay at this flat! The location was perfect for exploring the city—just a short walk to major attractions, vibrant bars, great restaurants and excellent shopping. The space itself is beautiful, warm and comfortable. It felt like we were being welcomed into a friend’s home rather than a rented property. There were a couple of minor issues during our stay, but Rosanna was incredibly responsive and had everything sorted out quickly. The flat truly made our time in Edinburgh more memorable, and we’d definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Edinburgh

The flat was everything we hoped it would be. Lots of room, wonderful kitchen and beautiful living room to gather at the end of a busy day. The location was fantastic with lots of local restaurants and grocery stores, as well as close to the bus and train stations. Absolutely loved this place

The bedrooms are big with very comfortable beds, two of them king size, the others were queens and the bedding was very nice. The kitchen had everything that you would need, including an ice maker. The living room was very spacious. Great location, close to Waverley station and a grocery store around the corner.

Three days in a sumptuous Georgian apartment. Incredible location where everything is just a walk away. A luxury hamper to greet us. A huge sitting room in which to relax. A stupendous master bedroom with a most comfortable bed. Every need catered for - books, toys, records. Even a piano complete with piano music. A real wrench to have to leave the apartment but somewhere to look forward to when we all come up to visit again.

Central yet Quiet

Hannah's apartment was perfect for our family trip to the fringe. Very central (3 mins walk to comedy club and Portrtait Gallery) yet perfectly quiet at night. Great accommodation once inside, spacious, well-decorated / furnished and spotlessly clean. Everyone loved the apartment.

Perfect getaway

Everything about this property is outstanding! High quality furnishings, fixtures and fittings, fully equipped for every eventuality and the most comfortable beds and bedding imaginable. It’s ideally located to walk to Edinburghs attractions or catch an Uber if preferred. Our host was welcoming and immediately responsive with any queries. Wedding week end

7 London Street was a fabulous base for 4 nights as we celebrated our son’s wedding at the Prestonfield House. The flat was brilliantly equipped with a great kitchen with handsome flagstone floors and every room had marvellous high ceilings and grand windows to flood the rooms with light. Beds were comfortable with soft linens and good pillows. We were met by a charming and friendly property manager who immediately made us welcome. Lovely welcome basket, excellent location in the New Town, central yet peaceful: this place ticked all the boxes. Definitely one to recommend!

Absolutely Wonderful!!

The apartment is absolutely beautiful! It is centrally located with a short walk to all the best sites in Edinburgh. The owners have done a wonderful job decorating it. We all felt that we were staying some place really special. The rooms were spacious with very comfortable beds. The kitchen was well equipped. The flat was clean and smelled really nice. The apartment manager was friendly and very responsive. She baked us a lovely lemon pound cake as a welcome and came to my rescue when I forgot my phone in the flat on the way to the airport. She had it in the mail the same day. We highly recommend staying here. One of the best VRBO experiences that we have had.

Home away from home

This is a beautiful property in a perfect location. The location is in walking distance to Princess St, on bus routes, close to grocery stores and restaurants. Our family of 7 had a wonderful time in Edinburgh with this home as our home base. The kitchen is well stocked with amenities to cook meals. Once booked Hannah contacted us and was always available and Rosanna gave us a warm greeting and was always available to answer questions. This is a wonderful home away from home. There is so much space for a large family visiting. The only concern I had was the front bedroom can be very noisy as it is on a bus route. There can be noise from both vehicle traffic and foot traffic. Otherwise it is perfect. We look forward to coming back and staying again.

Magical Winter Stay in New Town

My husband and I recently visited the Forbes Residence for a 2 week working stay with our 8 month old son. It was an absolute dream. A stunning, homely, comfortable residence with ample space and every amenity. Mary who manages the property was lovely, helpful and incredibly responsive. The flat is perfectly located in a wonderful neighbourhood that is walking distance to everything including some fantastic local eateries. Can’t say enough good things, wish we lived there :)

Very beautiful design apartment in the centre of Edinburgh

We had a family trip and spent five nights in this lovely apartment in the centre of Edinburgh. The location is really great - very central in the area full of Georgian styled buildings. The rooms look exactly like the photos - beautifully designed, decorated with taste, luxurious and super clean. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything we needed. The communication with the owner or staff went smoothly. There has always been a fast reply, whenever we asked any questions. Checking in was also fast, easy and very welcoming. Perfect! Could not ask for more.

I enjoyed a very memorable visit to the wonderful city of Edinburgh and the icing on the cake was staying in this great apartment. Perfectly centrally located and within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and visitor attractions. The accommodation is spacious, spotlessly clean and elegantly decorated with each room having it's own special charm. Lovely comfortable beds in quiet spacious bedrooms saw us well rested and keen to explore the city after which relaxing in the large airy drawing room was a joy. There is a well equipped kitchen and dining area although I think it would be hard to tire of the many great restaurants close by while on holiday. The owners have taken great care to think of their visitors needs while staying in the property thereby creating a very comfortable home from home. I look forward to returning and would recommend to friends and family when visiting Edinburgh to stay here. Thank you!

Married for 28 years, we live close to Edinburgh in a village famous for its golf courses and sense of community. We love the city too and visit often. Gordon was born and raised in Edinburgh, Hannah is from England but also lived in South Africa and Kenya. We have three fabulous children, two are doctors and the youngest is at university.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

Where to begin! We decided to buy a second home and spent two weekends seeing more than 50 properties. The minute we walked through the door we knew this was the one for us. It is beautifully proportioned with high ceilings and original features, and we have poured our hearts into making it a perfect home. Our kids would never forgive us if we sold it! We love being able to walk to everything and never use a car when we are there. We feel immersed in the fabric of the city. It is really special.
