It was a wonderful stay!

The apartment was everything we expected: a nice, functional holiday apartment right at the beach with restaurants close by (approximately 15 minute walk) and close to St. John's. The location is perfect to explore the whole island. Even English Harbour on the other side of the island is only 45 minutes away by car. The kitchen has everything needed. The bathrooms were pretty small but with enough space and hooks for your belongings. The only thing we missed was a safe. As we booked a beachfront apartment the view over the turquoise ocean was just beautiful. Also the beach was clean and pretty much without other people except the residents of Runaway Beach which were all very friendly. Communication with the owner Brian was uncomplicated. At the complex we were greeted very warmly by the caretaker Jeremiah. He showed us around and had a few good tips for us. All in all it was a wonderful stay and we can absolutely recommend Runaway Beach. Wir bekamen das, was wir wollten: eine hübsche, funktionelle Ferienwohnung, direkt am Strand mit kurzen Wegen zu Restaurants und nach St. John’s. Die ganze Insel lässt sich von hier aus wunderbar erkunden, bspw. erreicht man English Harbour mit dem Auto in 45 min. Die Küche war gut ausgestattet. Die Bäder waren zwar klein, aber mit ausreichend Abstellfläche und Haken. Einzig einen Safe haben wir vermisst. Absolut toll war der Ausblick auf das türkise Meer von der Terrasse aus. Der Strand direkt vor dem Haus war wundervoll und wir hatten ihn so gut wie alleine für uns. Die Kommunikation mit Brain lief problemlos und der Verwalter Jeremiah empfing uns sehr freundlich und hatte Tipps für uns. Wir empfehlen die Ferienanlage uneingeschränkt weiter!

Wonderful

We could not have been closer to the beach! We were very happy with our accommodations. The host was very responsive. If you needed anything at all or had questions they were very quick to respond. the staff —everyone from the servers to the parking lot attendant and security were extremely friendly and helpful. The food at Casa Roots was outstanding. I had the best mahi ever !! we ate at three other resorts while we were staying at Barrymore and none beaches were as nice as the beach at Barrymore. The other 3 beaches at these resorts still had beer bottles and trash left over from the night before. At Barrymore, they were even out early to clean any leaves up that would blow on the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Fabulous Stay

We loved everything about our stay at BBA. We were warmly greeted by Stephen when we arrived and he did a great job of getting us oriented. The apartment wasn't fancy but had everything we needed, the table and loungers on our private patio were perfect and the beach is pristine. I'd say a car is necessary and it would be difficult to walk anywhere from this location but it's totally worth being in a less busy area. We will stay again.

Yep, it's right on the beach

Excellent location right on a very nice beach - meaning just steps away. Fantastic view from the apartment. I would have given it 5 stars but there were a few simple things that would make it perfect that should be improved: 1) Stock the apartment better with basics like complete sets of dishes/utensils and at least a few basic pantry staples (only thing there was a lone pepper shaker. 2) Trim back the large bush off the terrace that's encroaching on the fabulous view. That said, we still had a great visit. Thanks!

Beautiful

The « cottage » was as pretty as the picture showing. Very clean. People working there are very welcoming. The beach there is perfect over perfect. I wish there was clim in all of the appartement, but there was in the bedroom. The location is perfect, steps form the beach. I wish the trees were cut so we can see the beach. There was kids in the next appartement, we could hear them like if they were right beside us. But anyways, we loved loved the appartement. It was fabulous!

What a wonderful place and great location, our stay was so enjoyable and the hosts, manager and staff were all really accommodating, most helpful, lovely people to meet. The apartment was exactly as described and in a perfect location by the sea, views wonderful. Facilities also great and with a great restaurant next door. I would thoroughly recommend a stay.

Excellent Propertry

With exception of being locked out of the gated entry with no buzzer to push for acceess/entry to the property upon check-in, we couldn't be happier. (We don't have international calling on our cell phones so it was impossible to call anyone for entry) I would argue this is one of the best beaches on the island.

Idyllic spot for a quiet break

Beautiful peaceful spot. If you are looking for a quiet beach and don't require lots of nightlife and excitement, this is perfect. Apartments right on the beach, a wonderful bar/restaurant open just 4 days a week. We had a very comfortable stay here and will return!

Wonderful Gem right on the beach!

Just finished up our stay at Barrymoore’s Apartments. The place is fantastic. Comfortable rooms that have all you need for a long or short stay. Check in was a breeze and we arrived early. They took care of us and got us into our room. Can’t say enough about the beach. Just breathtaking. The restaurant next door..Casa Roots has the best food on the beach, hands down. Thanks for a relaxing few days on the beach! ☀️🇦🇬

Our stay of a month at this condo was fantastic. Our unit was right on the beach and that in itself was a real gem - white sand, no rocks, smaller beach which gave you more of a private vib and perfect for swimming. We rented a car and travelled extensively, close to grocery store…a must to use Google Maps as there’s almost no street signage. Manager at the complex was great, grounds people and maid service 3 times a week was great as well. Separate building for laundry. Would stay here again.

Overall a great location and place. Highly suggest installing a dishwasher or a double sink. Single sink not ideal for dishwashing. Also, leave extra garbage bags, paper towel, and towels.

Beautiful views, great location!!

We stayed at this property for 4 nights. It was exactly as was described in the listing. This unit has the best view on the property. AC in both bedrooms was a big plus as it was hot in June. 10 feet away from the ocean. Casa Roots Restaurant on the property was very cute and we really enjoyed lunch on our first day. Unfortunately it was closed on Monday and Tuesday so couldn’t go again. Dickinson Bay was just a 2 min drive where we did jet ski, rented a private boat for snorkeling and watching beautiful sunset. We also did horse back riding, wouldn’t recommend that. Floating bar was so cute. Ana’s restaurant there was a beautiful experience. Will highly recommend to stay here.

Perfect hideaway location

Couldn’t fault anything. Nicely furnished contemporary furnished ground floor apartment with direct beach access and BBQ. The beach is fabulous and very quiet as is the whole complex. On site is an amazing restaurant Casa Roots well worth visiting. All staff were superb from Linda at the top , Michael on reception (nothing was a problem) and all the grounds and security team really friendly and happy to help. Supermarket 30 minute walk away but a small Grab shop just down the road but double the price. A great 5 days had - highly recommended and we would definitely return.

Peaceful and relaxing vacation.

Very comfortable. While the view was beautiful some trimming of the plants would provide an improvement. Also bright lights on the buildings beside us were a distraction from perfection. A suggestion; have some bottled water for your guests as apparently tap water should not be consumed. The beach was wonderful and we really appreciated that it was not crowded at any time.

Caribbean Heaven

Our apartment was across the garden straight to a beautiful, quiet beach. As you walked in there was a wonderful view of the sea and a breeze blew through it. A restaurant in the garden open half of the week. We didn't hire a car and walked 45 minuted to the nearest supermarket and took a taxi back. Everyone very friendly and helpful.
