Beautiful 3 bedroom villa in Cartama which can also be rented as a 2 bedroom with a private pool overlooking truly spectacular mountain views. The Villa is accessible in a standard car by a steep, but well maintained concrete road just 2km from the nearest town, a very pleasant scenic walk. You can see the most incredible sunsets as you sit by the pool or from the shady verandas perfect for alfresco dining. The Villa is surrounded by well tended gardens with many shady areas to enjoy the tranquillity of mountain life. The Google Earth coordinates are 36º 42' 11.69" N 4º 37' 34.82" W. Elevation 277m. El Chorro is only 30 mins drive away and the whole area is perfect for cycling, fishing, golf, horse riding, mountain biking, swimming and walking. Cartama has many shops and super markets, restaurants and many different fiestas at different times of the year that are truly spectacular. The Villa is fully equipped for your stay but if you want a good night out, the coast is only 20 minutes drive/train with all its tourists attractions.

Lovely place

The property has lovely views of the mountains and has a very good wood burning stove which we made good use of as we were there in February. Thank you Paquita for being generous with the logs. We drove towards Ronda to get amazing walks in the national park. Also highly recommend Santiago’s Kitchen which does excellent food.

Stunning views

Loved this house and setting! Quite a trek to get there but worth it once you see the views. Only negatives were that it was COLD and windy in Feb and the heating is really dependent on one wood stove in the LR. Also electric heaters in bedrooms to take chill off in pm and am. Landlady was very responsive and helped a lot with suggestions for local restaurants and sights. Lots of dogs barking (a la France!) otherwise very quiet and peaceful.

Amazing villa

The villa is in a stunning location with amazing views. Easy drives to local towns like Mijas and into Malaga. The villa has loads of outdoor seating so you always have somewhere to sit in the sun which was lovely!

Summer sun

We had a great stay in the mountains. Fabulous position and views from the pool area, and so many places to take in the environment around the property. Quite a drive up the hill to get there, but totally worth it! We watched the beautiful sunset every night.

A fabulous location to relax and unwind

Awesome property with lots of inside and outside space. Good size pool BBQ area Large terraced area with several sun loungers to relax and take in the sun. Lots of shaded areas if needed when the temperatures soar. Incredible views and great sunsets. We couldn’t fault it and the owners were amazing … Nothing too much trouble if you needed anything at all.

This is our first visit to Spain, we found this property not sure of location. But wow the view and property were amazing, it was so relaxing, peaceful but you aren't far from any shops or areas to visit. We will definitely look at coming back. 10/10

Idyllic

Absolutely fantastic! Piquita was a superb host, really felt able to contact her if required (but everything was fab so not needed!) Sam who met us and sorted the keys etc was lovely and helpful too. The villa itself has everything you require and is beautiful but the thing that sets this property above and beyond is the pool and the stunning view! Could spend all day and all evening just enjoying it. No need to leave. So stock up the fridge and have some time away from the usual grind. Highly recommend!

Superb Villa and spectacular views

Had 14 fantastic days in the Villa which is lovely and clean. The kids loved the pool one of the best Iv seen. Good communication from Samir and Paquita. The views from the Villa are spectacular and I could just sit and watch the world go by. Nice to watch the swallows fly over the pool, birds of prey and we were lucky to have a Iberian ibex appear on the property and watch it wandering about. The Villa is well equipped and has plenty of outside space/seating. Would certainly stay here again. Highly recommend

Just perfect! Highly recommend.

We were very sad to leave the villa after 7 wonderful days. The villa has all you need for a very comfortable stay, with a super pool to cool down in and breathtaking views. We wanted a relaxing and peaceful holiday and we certainly got it. We were easily able to communicate with Paquita and when we had a small issue with the hot water it was dealt with swiftly. I cannot make any negative comments as there simply weren’t any negatives. We would highly recommend booking this villa if you are looking to completely wind down surrounded by the mountains and blue skies.

wonderfully relaxing

Property was very nice. The outside and pool were the best. Must be half a dozen set of furniture for chasing or avoiding the sun. Very quiet set away from Cartama. Paquit and Sam were very helpful and friendly. We also had fun talking to the pool man neither of us having many words in common. He was fun too. The inside of the house was well appointed with all the amenities you would expect. Highly recomended

Amazing terasse and views, ideal for inland trips

The house is quite high up a mountain over a small town with amazing views of Malaga and further North, the terasse is just fantastic when the sun is out, and the location is convenient for trips inland, eg. Alhambra, Zipline, Ronda etc, but still within 20 mins of the beach and downtown Malaga. Hosts were very kind and efficient in every interaction. House is rustic and charming, and it has everything you need, our only real issue was temperature. It was Feb. and 5-16C the first day, and even with the extra radiators and firewood supplied by our hosts it might have been difficult to stay warm, if the weather had not improved. However, this coolness is probably a plus in the warm season

Overall all went well. It was a bit of shock to drive to the house at the first time with a van because the house was located up on the hill. Also we had some problems with a smaller toilet and shower. Wc got stucked very easily and we avoided to use it. Also there was no hot water from smaler shover. Oven was also a bit of tricky. When we used owen and stow, we were not albe to use those at the same time. Othervise house was very nice and it was very nice to have a private pool. Overall I could use this house again😊

Lovely villa with pool

We chose the villa because of its location in relation to a wedding we were attending in Cartama. We rented for 8 nights to make it into a family holiday and had a fantastic time. The location is spectacular - nearly at the top of the hill with far reaching views across the valley, and looking down on the castle. The villa had everything you’d expect, including a gas barbecue and the pool was clean. You really need a car or at least to use taxis to get your shopping up the hill, but if you enjoy hiking there are great walks right from the villa. Highly recommended. Lovely villa in beautiful surroundings

We stayed for a week with 5 adults. Plenty of room for all of us. Lovely pool and stunning sunsets!! Very quiet and chilled area. Had a walk down to the castle ruins and church which was lovely. Villa is quite old in style which we didn't mind with a very Spanish type kitchen. Cooker took a little getting used to but mastered it after a few days. Emilia and her husband were so helpful and so kind. We had a water issue one day and Emilia sorted it our straight away and couldn't have been more helpful. Few things could do with some updating like the sunloungers but all in all it was a comfy villa with all that we needed.

Beautiful villa with stunning views

We’re just back from a week stay and we’ve had such a lovely relaxing break. The villa is quite far up a hill and the views from it are spectacular. We saw plenty of wildlife including eagles, owls, swallows dipping into the pool. The villa itself was rustic and could possibly do with a bit of upgrading in the kitchen but it was clean and had everything we needed. Overall we absolutely loved our stay. Emelia was very welcoming and was just at the end of the phone if we needed anything.

Amazing view, lovley hosts

My partner and I have just returned from a week in Cartama, where we stayed in this beautiful villa. When we arrived, we met Emilia and her husband at the local Lidl and they escorted us up to the villa. They were incredibly welcoming and took the time to show us around and to answer any of our questions. They had very kindly picked us up some groceries, and a much appreciated bottle of wine, as we had arrived on a Sunday afternoon and the Lidl wasn’t open. We were able to enjoy a relaxing first evening, watching the sun set over the mountains. The views really are incredible, even more stunning than shown in the photos. The villa was very clean and spacious. It had everything we needed. Numerous seating/eating areas outside, barbecue, swimming pool, a handy cupboard filled with extra beach towels, family games, binoculars, spare sun cream etc. and a well equipped kitchen. This villa was perfect for us as we were able to relax reading by the pool, escaping from the world, but were also able to travel to Malaga and various other beaches in less than 30 mins. We had a lovely day out in Ronda, which was an hour drive away through very beautiful scenery. Marbella was also worth a day trip to enjoy the stunning beaches and numerous restaurants and bars. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this villa, would highly recommend the hosts, and will definitely return again.

Dieses wunderschöne Haus wird den Bilder nicht gerecht!

Mit 5 Freunden hatten wir das Haus Ende Juli für eine Woche gemietet. Vom Flughafen in Malaga haben wir ca. 20 Minuten mit dem Taxi zu dem Lidl gebraucht, wo wir unsere Vermieter trafen. Die beiden, ein älteres Ehepaar, sind zwei wunderbare liebevolle Menschen. Wir haben uns sofort willkommen gefühlt. Von dem Lidl aus ging es hoch hinaus auf den Berg, auf welchem das Landhaus steht. Das Haus und der Pool waren in einem einwandfreien Zustand und alles war sehr hygienisch sauber. Genauso der Pool. Dieser war sehr klar und zweimal die Woche kam ein Mann, der sich um den Pool gekümmert hat (PH-Wert, etc.). DIE AUSSICHT DARF MAN SICH ABSOLUT NICHT ENTGEHEN LASSEN! Man hat einen kompletten Blick auf Cartama und viele kleine Nachbarstädte. das Highlight war der Sonnenuntergang. Den konnte man direkt von der Terrasse aus beobachten. Einfach wunderschön. Wer gerne was unternehmen möchte kann sich auf Wanderung begeben. Etwas weiter den Berg rauf, gibt es kleine Wanderwege, durch welche man noch weiter nach oben gelangt und einen noch atemberaubenderen Ausblick ergattern kann. Wir waren mit Taxi einen Tag am Strand aber wir hätten die ganze Woche auch einfach in dem Haus verbringen können. Das war ein sehr schöner Urlaub mit vielen schönen Erinnerungen.

Parfait

Séjour au top, tout comme la villa et ses propriétaires. La vue et la villa sont exceptionnels. Seul petit bémol ce serait: pas de lave-vaisselle et cuisinière assez rustique. Mais rien de bien méchant, à coté de la vue et de la piscine, ca passe inaperçu.

Heaven on Earth 😍

The amazing heavenly retreat is a perfect place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of city life, The house on the beautiful hills of Cartama is away from the hustle of the tourist centers, but close enough to travel to if so desired. Having a car is ideal, however we used Uber and local taxi service which was easy enough. Don’t get me started on the views and the amazing pool, my kids stayed in the pool most of our time there! The view are the most relaxing and far reaching, you will be sitting by the pool mesmerising for hours 😍 There’s everything you need in the house, BBQ was a brilliant, once we walked down to the village ( an hour walk) which was an amazing adventure for us 2 and our 7 & 8 yo! We’re definitely going back next year 😊

Fantastic Family Holiday with Breathtaking Views.

My wife, two children and I have just returned from one of the best family holidays we have ever had and this villa played a huge part in making it such a wonderful experience. The views from the rear, pool area of the villa are simply stunning and it was a treat watching the sunset over the mountains every night. The pool is a good size and we all enjoyed refreshing swims everyday to help us cool off from the heat. There are a couple of shaded veranda areas to escape the hot afternoon sun and multiple outdoor seating areas. The villa is in a quiet area on the hillside and is very private. Within the villa, the rooms are all of a decent size and there are plenty of ceiling fans to keep them cool and the air conditioned, upstairs bedroom has a picture window where you can see the fantastic views of the mountains. There are plenty of towels, some family games and leaflets on things to do and places to visit. If you want to get out and about you can walk down the hill to the castle ruins or head into the village itself. Up the hill takes you over some rocky hillside landscape with amazing wildlife and plants. from the top you can take in more breathtaking views of the sea, Malaga city and the surrounding mountains. We had a car and took day trips to the incredible walled city of Alhambra in Granada, Benalmadena and Fuengirola. We also caught the train from the nearby Estación de Cartama to Malaga City and had a great day there. There are so many beaches within 30 minutes drive and the history of the region is fascinating. The whole experience was enhanced by the wonderful service the owner provided. After booking the villa, Bernie, got in touch to tell us about the house, surrounding area, getting there, food shopping at the nearby Lidl, places to go and eat etc. He was friendly and very helpful with the information he provided. On arrival in Cartama, about 25 minutes from the airport, we met with Emilia and her husband who took us up into the hills above the village to the villa. They were both extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble, telling us we could contact them during our stay if needs be. I cannot speak highly enough of our experience in Cartama and this villa. Watching the sky turn red as the sun set over the mountains whilst taking a dip in the pool will live long in the memory. I am sure that should we visit Malaga in the future, we will be booking into this villa again.

Tranquility and nature

The photos online don't do justice to this villa - it is a very lovely property in a really beautiful spot, high on the hillside above Cartama. The views are absolutely spectacular and the wildlife impressive: we saw eagles, quails and goats every day. One of the daily highlights was "goat time" when the goatherd brought his goats down the hillside with a tinkling of goatbells around 1030 every morning! We walked down to eat in Cartama on a couple of occasions - it's about a 15-20 minute walk and a nice way to work off your dinner coming back home up the hill. The pool was perfect - it's a very good size, although the location on the mountainside meant we needed to scoop out vegetation every so often. We found that the veranda was a godsend in the heat - our visit coincided with a heatwave and we spend much of our time eating, relaxing and generally chilling out on the lovely daybed and many comfortable chairs and in the evenings it was great watching the sun set and night fall from there. There are extensive patio-d grounds with sun loungers and tables to allow you to eat outside and in the shade at most times of day and the pool and gardens are very well maintained and really beautiful. Our only niggle would be that the upstairs bedroom was really too hot to sleep in during the heatwave that coincided with our visit, but we could all fit in downstairs so it wasn't a problem for us. There's no air conditioning but plenty of fans provided so we made good use of them! The villa is in a good location for visiting the coast and Malaga. We also visited the nearby lakes, or embalsas, really beautiful and about an hour's drive away at Ardales. Worth it for the swim in brilliant blue water. We also drove to Granada to see the Alhambra - it is a couple of hours away by car and spectacular. One of the nicest things about the villa was that we felt really well looked after - we had a couple of teething problems and the lovely Amelia and Jesus were absolutely delightful, as was Bernie the owner - they couldn't do enough to help us and made us feel really welcome.
