Chamberí is a lovely residential area near the city center. The area is upscale, with lovely parks and playgrounds in addition to stately housing blocks. The area is popular with newcomers to the city, thanks to its convenience and architectural flair. Cafes and restaurants can be found throughout the neighborhood, and the Almagro district is especially popular for clubbing. The Sorolla Museum, an art gallery set within a restored mansion, is located in Chamberí, along with the Andén 0 Estación Museo, a "ghost" subway station that is now open to visitors. Another neighborhood attraction is Santander Park, a huge public park where you can jog, picnic, or play sports on the weekends.
Trafalgar is a lively neighborhood that is home to a number of cinemas, hip clubs and live rock venues. The action surrounds the Plaza de Olavide, a popular public park surrounded by bars and cafes that serve drinks and tapas on Sunday afternoons and on summer evenings.
