Just around a mile from The Curve at Caerlaverock is the small village of Glencaple on the banks of the River Nith, and surrounded on all sides by stunning scenery and is a popular holiday spot. The village boasts an award-winning restaurant and shop on the quayside and offers a warm welcome with a cosy snug, stunning views and al fresco dining out on the terrace. The Curve at Caerlaverock is part of the Caerlaverock Estate and within 5 minutes’ drive you can enjoy a day at Caerlaverock Wetland Centre, a spectacular 1400-acre wild reserve. The historical Caerlaverock Castle is a great place to visit while in the area. This delightful corner of south west Scotland has so much to offer with many more interesting historical sites throughout the region. There are other activities to try like mountain biking, to challenging hill walks and some of the darkest skies in the world, not to mention over 200 miles of stunning and dramatic coastline with secluded little bays and sandy beaches.
