DIE WASSERANSICHT - der Hauptgrund, warum wir Green Acres an der Bucht gekauft haben. Die atemberaubende Aussicht auf den East River bietet einen tadellosen Zugang zu Natur, Entspannung und Privatsphäre an der Chesapeake Bay. Neu im Sommer 2017 bietet dieses renovierte Bauernhaus ein Ferienparadies für Paare, Familien und natürlich ist es hundefreundlich. Alle modernen Annehmlichkeiten (WiFi, 40 "Fernseher in jedem Schlafzimmer und 50" im Wohnzimmer) und eine Fülle von Outdoor-Leben: Deck, Feuerstelle, entspannende Stühle überall, Hängematte. Das Hotel liegt in Mathews County, stimmte eine der coolsten kleinen Städte in Amerika.

Green Acres schnell arbeitet seine Magie auf Gäste mit seiner Privatsphäre, reichlich Natur und Entspannung. Die Vogelwelt ist einfach erstaunlich (Karla's Dad ist ein Ornithologe, also haben wir eine tolle Wertschätzung) und an einer klaren Nacht kann man den Stars nicht glauben! Mathews County Kultur ist ein bisschen wie die Florida Keys (die wir lieben), dass Sie sich schnell an die Insel Zeit anzupassen. Sie stoppen Sorgen um alle Ihre E-Mails und Listen zu machen und die Zeit wird durch Mahlzeit, Cocktail-Zeit und Nickerchen Zeit gemessen. Wir spezialisieren uns darauf, die Menschen zu entspannen, einen tiefen Atemzug zu nehmen und die Natur in all ihrer Pracht zu genießen. Mathews County hat nicht einmal eine Ampel, aber wir haben 90 Meilen von Wasserwege ideal für Kajakfahren und Bootfahren und neun Küstenwege, die Teil von Virginias Birding & Wildlife Trails System sind. Für Radfahrer findet die Tour de Chesapeake jährlich in Mathews statt, die Radwege unterschiedlicher Länge anbieten.

Wenn Sie etwas Sand in Ihren Zehen wollen, sind wir eine kurze Fahrt von Haven Beach, Aaron Beach und Bethel Beach in Mathews mit toller Vogelbeobachtung, Muschel sammeln, schlendern. Wenn Sie auf der Suche nach einem Tagesausflug sind, sind wir eine Stunde entfernt von Colonial Williamsburg & Busch Gardens, Yorktown. The PERFECT getaway

The house was amazing! The setup is absolutely perfect for families. Everything was labeled in the kitchen so you’re not spending 1/2 your visit looking for things! There were little personal touches that were very special, a note for the dogs and a welcome sign! Karla was so kind when I reached out. We can’t say enough about this place!

So relaxing and beautiful views!

Property was very clean and very well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. It was clear that the owner worked hard to make everyone AND our dog feel right at home. The dock has incredible views! It was so relaxing to sit on the water every day. We caught lots of crabs and fish and loved having access to the kayaks.

Awesome location for R&R

You cannot explain the peacefulness and just laid back area this location provides. The dock and quiet back creek area is perfect for fishing, crabbing as well as just kayaking. My wife, 4 kids (ages 9, 13, and 15) as well as 2 dogs absolutely loved our week stay. Karla has done a great job setting up the home and provides great communication.

A pleasant stay

We enjoyed our stay at the property. House and grounds are as listed. Plenty of space for us, our 4 college-aged children, and a dog. Nice location for kayaking, relaxing, and checking out the stars at night. We appreciated the owner's communication from start to finish. Highly recommend the property.

Beautiful location, clean, and well stocked. Our ladies trip was to Colonial Williamsburg and this house was just perfect for us. We enjoyed sitting on the dock taking in the wonderful scenery. We all agreed that this was the best place we rented.

Time with Nature

Green Acres was the perfect stay for getting out on the rivah and partaking in all nature has to offer: kayaking, crabbing, fishing, listening to the great symphony of crickets/cicades, watching blue herons, egrets, laughing gulls, eagles, and many other birds, Catching glimpses of stingrays in the creek, watching the sunrise/sunset, moonrise/moonset, even got to play with dolphins! A treasured time that will be forever remembered <3

Perfection on the bay!!!

What an incredible property!!!! I can’t wait to return!!!! The house was more than awesome and the dock is chocked full of delicious blue crab!!! The host went well beyond to accommodate our pup Sadie… truly a one of a kind for dog lovers! Sunsets were incredible, wildlife abundant, and the whole vibe is peaceful and relaxing. The hardest part for us was leaving!! Thanks Karla for making our vacation one for the record books!!!

Beautiful getaway!

The property is beautiful, and the view is tough to beat. It's true to the listing and exceptionally clean and comfortable. We loved using the kayaks and enjoyed fishing from the dock. Karla made the process very easy. Highly recommend The Hole in the Wall restaurant on Gwynn Island. Great view and great food! There's plenty to do in the surrounding areas or you can unplug and enjoy the peace and quiet!

Wildlife and water.

So many bluebirds! And lots of other interesting wildlife in the neighborhood. Bike rides to the village of Mobjack and paddling on the East River are great ways to see the critters and enjoy nature. If it rains, the living room windows have a great view and the house is stocked with cable TV, board games and books.

Summer Vacation 2023

We had a great time. We could have spent our whole vacation without leaving the rental property but we did travel to Bush Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, Water Country USA and Jamestown. Thank you for allowing us to stay at Green Acres. Chloe and Ari had a great time swimming in the bay and play with the toys that were there upon their arrival.

Fantastic house and location, super clean, great host!

What a wonderful, relaxing vacation! The house is well appointed with anything that may be needed for a vacation on the water. We enjoyed fishing from the dock as well as from our kayaks... my husband even caught a 23 inch fish while kayaking at the mouth of our little cove! Karla's attention to detail, both with information before our visit and inside the house made everything seamless and comfortable. I highly recommend a stay at Green Acres at the Bay!

This is my third time returning to Green Acres. And certainly not my last!! Karla is always the perfect host. She even made Finn (my German Shepard) and his cousins feel welcome!! The house is well stocked and makes you feel like you’re at home!! 💕😊

Wonderful Waterfront Weekend

This is a lovely property with charm and peaceful East river views. Perfectly setup for biking, kayaking, fishing, boating activities or just relaxing. The creek and river were easy to navigate which is just what we were looking for since we are new boat owners. The quaint town of Mathews is nearby which was an added bonus. Perhaps the best part of our experience was the thoughtful host. She graciously answered all our questions (we had a lot) and provided lots of detailed information about the surrounding restaurants and stores and the property itself. Our family can't wait to go back.

Peaceful Spot

Beautiful property with amazing views! This property is meticulously maintained and the owners are really on top of everything. This is a great spot if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. It is very remote and not really convenient if you are looking to do a lot of activities beyond the property. That may be a plus for some though. Definitely a property worth checking out!

Wonderful property!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Green Acres! The house was very clean and well appointed. So many amenities were available like beach towels, kitchen tools and gadgets, condiments and salad dressings in the refrigerator, outdoor seating, multiple kayaks and fire wood for the fire pit among many other things. The grounds and landscaping were well taken care of. Groceries and local restaurants were within 15 minutes and franchise restaurants and big box stores were about 20-25 minutes away in Gloucester if that's your thing. We got very comfortable very quickly! The area is very quiet as everyone seems to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and wildlife. Very lovely spot!

We (Dave and Karla) are the proud 'parents' of our yellow Lab, Skink, and the delighted uncle and aunt of ten nieces/nephews. Our labs have traveled w/us on vacations down to the Florida Keys and up to Bar Harbor (where we honeymooned three decades ago). All the kids in our lives regularly remind us how amazing the rural life is and how lucky we are to be so immersed in nature. Don't hold it against us but we're die hard Dallas Cowboys fans since the late 70s!

The water view...just stunning views of the East River, the main reason we purchased Green Acres at the Bay.
We spent the better part of a year renovating this farmhouse and property to provide a vacation paradise for couples, families and of course it's dog-friendly. Master gardener Richard worked his magic again to make the grounds spectacular including fire pit, pathway gardens and he even incorporated the original owners' skiff into the entrance way gardens. Let the relaxation begin!
