Pass the Keys | Two bedroom Victoria Town house, easy walk of town
About this space
This Victorian townhouse is located in a quiet residential street with parking for two cars and only a 15-minute stroll from the beautiful town of Shrewsbury, with its timber-lined building, independent shops and many bars, cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes.
Our home is suitable for couples, families, friends wanting to catch up or those looking for a home from home while working locally.
The space
Our home includes a cosy sitting room. Dining area with log burner, a perfect area to catch up over a coffee or glass of wine, which leads into a fully equipped kitchen with plenty of storage space.
Also off the dining room is a utility room, a great area for drying off muddy paws and storing outdoor equipment such as bikes.
Upstairs we have two cosy bedrooms with luxurious soft furnishings. Bedroom one, at the front of the house, has a super-king bed and bedroom two is a double. We also have a family bathroom with a bath and shower over the bath. The stairs are steeply inclined.
As you walk outside, there is a relaxing place to sit surrounded by a patio area and garden for catching those sunny afternoons.
The stairs are steeper than usual and may pose a challenge for older guests.
And most important, we have off-road parking for 2 medium-sized cars which is rare around Victorian-designed property in the area - so your car can be safe and secure.
Guest access
All of the property and garden are for guests to enjoy.
Other things to note
Strictly no parties and no smoking.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome at a charge of £20 per dog. We do ask they stay downstairs, we don't want doggy paws all over our bedding and that guests clear up any doggy mess outside. Please let us know if you would like to bring your furry friends.
Travel Cot and High Chair available on request.
Our property is professionally cleaned and is set up to be remote access, ensuring there is no direct contact with anyone needed. The linen and towels are removed from the property after each stay and replaced with freshly laundered supplies.
Supermarkets
If you turn left out of the house, at the top of the street, right and across the road is our local convenience store. There is a large Asda and Sainsbury's local both within a 5-minute drive. There is also a large Tesco Extra, Morrisons and Aldi 10 minute drive.
Local Restaurants
In walking distance from our home is the local pub The Abbey which serves food all day. Takeaways we have Tim Tim Chinese and Fish & Chip shop just a short walk away. If you walk into town via Abbey Foregate you will pass The Peachtree, Havana Republic, and Momo’s, all have different themes and The Peachtree is a cafe by day. , The Crown pub and The Ganges Indian takeaway are located in Abbey Foregate too. In town, there are so many to choose from but here are a few we like. For more fine dining we would recommend The Walrus or Lion and Pheasant which are located in town or Hencote has a beautiful view over the town. Italian - La Dolce Vita or Osteria Da Paolo. For a good curry The Curry House or Avatar. Pizza - Dough & Oil. The Istanbul Restaurant has a wide selection of charcoal grills. Momo's Noodle Bar is nice. The Olive tree or Casa Naranjo for Tapas. House of the Rising Sun and The Armoury are always firm favourites, along with Cote and Bistro Jacques. And not forgetting The Boat House, which has a great outdoor space and overlooks the river. Number Four does a great brunch. We also like Hickory's and have a Nando's and a Harvester near the cinema which is within walking distance. There are also many cafes, in the town, at the back of the Square we like the more traditional Gallery tea room. Or Ginger & Co, where you can watch the world go by. Don’t forget to check out the local Market Hall, where you can eat, drink and shop for local produce.
Local Attractions
A 20-walk from the house will take you into the historic town of Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury has 800 listed buildings from the 16th and 17th centuries. Unfortunately in the 1960s, some historic buildings were demolished to make way for a very different architectural style and I am sure you will spot these buildings. Just remember when you are walking around to look up. A walk past the train station, castle, and old library building is worth seeing. If you follow the river, you will come to the Quarry Park, which is a beautiful 29-acre parkland providing the perfect place to relax, enjoy walks, picnic, or play a game of ball with the family. At the heart of the Quarry lies the Dingle, a floral masterpiece cultivated by world-renowned gardener Percy Thrower, who served as Parks Superintendent for 28 years. It's a delightful sunken garden landscaped with alpine borders, shrubbery, and charming water features that is worth a wander around. We also hold many festivals in the Quarry, check to see what is on. Shrewsbury Prison is worth a visit and has featured on many TV series. www.visitshropshire.co.uk www.originalshrewsbury.co.uk We have a multi-plex cinema if you fancy checking out the latest blockbuster and The Theater Severn www.theatresevern.co.uk. Shrewsbury Prison is worth a visit and has featured on many TV series
