Right on the seafront, the Old Sweet Shop is a quirky little property because it is an old shop! The main wall in the living room is mainly glass- looking to the sea. There are also sea views from the children's bunk bed room. This is ideal get away for a couple, or an annex for parents if renting out the next door property: Otters Hatch. This is not a run of the mill property, given its former use, so it makes for a fun holiday escape-with the added bonus of having the beach opposite.
There is no outside space but it is right on the beach, beach chairs there and blankets for days on the beach. I would recommend taking your morning cuppa onto the beach- because you can, and it is a great way to start the day!

Great location

Lovely location. Small but lovely accommodation. Everything you needed for a great stay. Although it was right on the sea front it was very quiet in the evening with plenty of parking. We are fairly local to this venue, love the area and would stay again. Within walking distance of lovely local restaurants and eateries and dog friendly. Loved it.

My yearly family tradition

I liked this place so much, I intend on making it a yearly family tradition. I want to bake cookies in the “cookie house” with my daughter and my future grandchildren. I felt happy as soon as I opened the door. Being able to open the door and see the ocean… priceless. Everything is within walking distance, parking was easy. The main street in town is two blocks away… lovely, artistic, convenient. I loved every minute of it.

Beautiful little house right on the beach

Small in size but big in style. We absolutely loved our stay at the Old Sweet Shop. It is beautifully and quirkily decorated, making the most of its small size. It had everything we needed, including picnic chairs for the beach which is directly across the road, and retro sweet shop sweets for the kids. It’s the perfect location for exploring Deal. We loved opening the window to see the sun sparkling on the sea every morning. The only thing that would stop us going again is our kids getting too big for the bunk beds! Thanks for a fab stay.

I love Deal and I love old quirky houses with lots of period features, so I was really drawn to The Old Sweet Shop we having restored this property to create a cute bolt hole- ideally for a couple or a couple with young children, say aged 5-8 or 9. There are stairs and the children's room is small with bunk beds but it has the added bonus of being able to see the sea from the top bunk. There is also a little bench for children to climb onto and see the sea and read their books/count passing ships.

I love the fact that it is different and not run of the mill. I think a holiday should be something to remember and this is a one off. It is not a huge property because it is a little converted shop but it is cute.

The beach is your garden- it is so close you can make a cuppa and take it onto the beach. There are sea views from the TV room and the top bedroom. It is in a fab location
