Herzlich Willkommen im The Ledges Resort & Marina! Wir befinden uns in der St. Lawrence River gegenüber Boldt Castle. Wir haben Blick auf die Burg, den versunkenen Felsleuchtturm und den Hauptschifffahrtskanal. Wir haben Decks, Docks, Hängematten und Pavillons. Sie eignen sich hervorragend zum Beobachten von Schiffen oder zum Angeln. Wir haben den Pool im Erdgeschoss neu renoviert. Es gibt Feuerstellen im Freien, an denen Sie sich unter dem Sternenhimmel aufwärmen können. Wir liefern sogar das Brennholz! Es gibt viele offene Rasenflächen, auf denen Sie Fangen, Rasenspiele spielen oder einfach spazieren gehen können.

Das Ledges bietet einen ruhigen Zufluchtsort mit einem 6 Hektar großen angelegten Grundstück am Wasser. Obwohl das Gelände Privatsphäre und viel Platz bietet, befinden wir uns nicht an einem abgelegenen Ort. Die Innenstadt ist schnell und einfach zu Fuß zu erreichen. Wir sind nah an allen Attraktionen. Bei den Ledges haben Sie das Beste aus beiden Welten; Entspannung und Bequemlichkeit!

Das Loon Cottage ist ein wunderschönes Loft-Cottage mit einem Schlafzimmer und einem Steinkamin mit Blick auf den Fluss. Es hat ein Queen-Size-Bett im Obergeschoss. Unten gibt es ein Queen-Size-Ausziehsofa mit Memory-Schaum-Matratze. Es verfügt über eine voll ausgestattete Küche mit einem Kühlschrank mit Gefrierfach, einer Spüle mit Bauernschürze, einem Herd, einem Geschirrspüler, einer Kaffeemaschine, einem Wasserkocher und einer Mikrowelle. Es gibt einen 39 "HDTV mit Directv-Satellitenfernsehen.
Auf der Außenterrasse gibt es einen Grill und einen Esstisch mit Stühlen, an denen Sie im Sommer grillen können. Es gibt eine Feuerstelle mit Adirondack-Stühlen, um mit der Familie den Abend zu genießen.

Luxus Shampoo, Conditioner und Handseife werden von Beekman 1802 geliefert. Die Betten sind mit frischer Bettwäsche bezogen. Badetücher, Handtücher und Waschlappen sind ebenfalls vorhanden.

Alles ist vorbereitet und bereit, um Ihren Urlaub entspannt und komfortabel zu gestalten. Bring dich einfach mit!

Loved it

We stayed in the Loon Cottage and absolutely loved it! This is a great location, only a short walk or quick ride to all the restaurants, The property has many extras including canoes, grills, pool and a beautiful area for outdoor camp fires and lounging. The owners were quick to respond to any messages and always available for assistance, We would recommend The Ledges to any families looking for a perfect spot to vacation In Alexandria Bay!

Stunning property & marina on the St Lawrence Seaway. Clean & efficient units on large & spacious grounds. Spectacular views & scenery abound. The owners were easily accessible & friendly. Our unit was as advertised, with Dish Network TV, gas fireplace, all new exterior & interior. Spacious bathroom, fabulous shower, plentiful towels & washcloths. Kitchen was well appointed, outside grill & firepit with plenty of firewood & kindling. Beautifully decorated grounds added to the total experience. Watching ships go by, shopping in town or just exploring the area & walking in town. Alexandria Bay, The Ledges, Boldt Castle made for one Excellent Vacation

We traveled up from Maryland to celebrate our daughters wedding at Boldt Castle (which you can see from the property) and were awe struck by the location and coziness of this cottage. Nick and Amy were very responsive to any questions that I had. We're looking forward to visiting again to explore the town more in depth.

Idyllic getaway

Wonderful experience. Well equipped & cozy cottage with everything you might need. Lots of homey touches like houseplants, tea & coffee supplies, bonfire setup. We really enjoyed the beautiful grounds, ship-watching, sunset viewing, lounging in the hammocks, kayaking, and bonfires at night. Nick & Amy are wonderful hosts--very responsive and friendly. We can't wait to come back!

Great stay at Loon Cottage!

Loon Cottage is beautiful! Modern, clean with excellent views. There are plenty of windows that allow breezes to flow and a gas fireplace if the temperature dips. It was nice having a kitchen, fully equipped with everything. The bathroom is large with an amazing shower. The Ledges Resort property is scenic and meticulously maintained. I really enjoyed my four night stay.

Perfect river getaway!

We enjoyed everything about our stay at the Loon Cottage. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Everyone working there was very friendly. The view was awesome (great for watching ships and sunsets). We used the outdoor fire pit every night, and appreciated that they always replenished our wood supply. The property is beautiful- there’s a ton of space to walk, and the landscaping is beautiful. We will definitely be back!

Escape from …….

Wife and I needed a break. Work, Covid, crowds. Read about Alexandria Bay an saw this on VRBO. Glad we did. Spent a pleasant get away in the Loon cottage. Totally relaxing. Cooked a few meals and ate on deck watching the boats go by and sun set. Built a nice roaring fire by the private fire pit. Place is worth staying at. Clean, friendly folks and quiet. Thank you Nick and Amy. Had a wonderful and relaxing stay. Looking forward to come up and stay there again.

The grounds and home were very well maintained. The adorable cottage was immaculate and the kitchen was extremely well stocked. We loved time on the private patio and fire pit just watching the boats go by. We hope to be back again soon!

A pretty place for a get away

We spend Labor Day weekend at The Ledges. It’s located right outside downtown Alex Bay. The property is really beautiful and the landscaping immaculate. The cottage is exactly as advertised, clean and comfortable. The only downside is if your looking for privacy. The cottages are close in proximity. It was a nice stay and I would recommend.

A little piece of heaven

The place was exactly as described. No surprises. Everything you need is right there. The one thing I missed was a full length mirror upstairs. The view is beautiful and if you are a ship watcher like we are you will not be disappointed. ABay is about an 18 minute walk. It was wonderful. No complaints.

Zu Gast bei Nick & Amy Schaefer

The Ledges Resort & Marina started with my grandparents Nicholas J Schaefer and his wife Amy. They purchased the property in 1961 and made it their home. In 1963 they built a motel and named it The Ledges. They also opened a German restaurant on the property named The Old World Inn. They closed the restaurant 1982, but continued with the motel. In later years the motel was managed by my parents, Jerome and Deborah Schaefer. They expanded into the marina and cottage rental business. In 2013 after 50 years in business we made a decision as a family to close the business and tear down the motel.

In 2014 my wife and I purchased the property from my parents. We remodeled the old buildings and built brand new cottages from the ground up. We re-opened to guests in the spring of 2015. I was named after my grandfather, Nicholas, and it just so happens that my wife’s name is Amy. So, once again Nick & Amy are your hosts at the Ledges!
