Great Position and great host

We just loved the design and amazing attention to detail of the beautiful Old Guard property right near the beach in Hope Cove. Super design with everything we needed to feel like a home from home. The host was super responsive and welcoming and I can’t wait to stay again!

Stunning home. Incredible views. Modern. Sleek. Parking so helpful

Wonderful 5 day stay. Clean. Attractively decorated. Modern. Utility room so useful for wet suits. As was outside shower. Balcony wonderful. Bed awfully comfy ! Will definitely return.

Amazing Property

We know hope Cove very well and have stayed in many properties over the years but none have had the amazing view that this property has. The layout is quirky but it works well and waking up in the main bedroom with the view is well worth the effort with the fold up bed. 5* rating is well deserved

Beautiful location, tranquil setting

The property is in a fabulous location. Easy access to the beach, great veranda for a cuppa first thing or a Prosecco in the evening watching the sunset. Comfy beds, good quality linen and towels. Great for all ages

Beautiful property and unbeatable location

Had a great week at The Old Guard. The property is stunning and incredibly well set up. Everything you need and works well for a family of 5. The views are amazing, and Hope Cove has everything you need from a Devon beach holiday. Really can't fault this place. Wendy's communication before and during the holiday was comprehensive and so useful. Thanks for a great holiday!

The Old Guard is a recent purchase to us, finally fulfilling a life long dream of ours to own a property in Hope Cove. My family have been holidaying here for 90 years having owned various places in the area over the years. Our whole family grew up in Devon and many still live locally visiting Hope Cove at every opportunity. It is an amazing place, good for the soul, and one where childhood memories are made.

The Old Guard is the old duty room for the coast guard, built in 1820, with plentiful maritime history. It was converted to holiday accommodation in 2007 and has been a private holiday home since then. Being so unique, the slightly quirky layout only adds to its charm as a fantastic sea side escape.

Right next to the sea, the house is positioned in an amazing location, 50m to the beach and south west coast path. With sea views from the garden and terrace, parking for two cars, a sizeable garden, large terrace and evening sun, what more could you ask for?

A short stroll across the beach (or cliff path if the tide is in) brings you to Outer Hope Cove where the village shop sells essentials and groceries and the Hope and Anchor Pub, The Cove and the Lobster Pod are great places to eat out.
