A Great Stay in Edinburgh
This Vrbo rental apartment gets very high marks in that it looks exactly as advertised. It is in a fantastic location (on a quiet residential street immediately off the main drags) within a 20 min walk of virtually everything in central Edinburgh. It was clean and comfortable with everything in working order, roomy and a perfect size for 2 people. However, there are just a few critiques/areas of improvement that may make the experience even better for future renters: A duplicate set of keys would be very helpful—having one set made it challenging for two people to come and go at different times. An extra set of bath towels and bed linens (including a top sheet)—without having to ask for this—would also have been greatly appreciated. Having only one set of towels (per person), and no additional bed linens (for the bedroom) may be fine for someone staying only a few days or a week, but we were there for 3 weeks. Without a machine dryer in the apartment, it took 3+ full days to air dry the towels, and we didn’t even attempt the bed linens but ended up taking everything to a local laundromat to dry. And having only a down comforter is fine for chilly/cold nights, but it was rather warm during the first half of our stay (low to mid 70’s), and there were no flat top sheets and often too hot to sleep with a comforter. No major complaints whatsoever, but it still would have been nice not to have had these inconveniences. All in all, a very nice place and we had an enjoyable stay.
