peaceful spot for exploring snaefelsness

we enjoyed the area, it is breathtaking and you can do great hikes at the coast and into the mountains. the house has everything you need and is really spacious. do not forget to visit the cafe on the Hellnar coast, which serves delicious homemade bread and cakes.

Schöne Doppelhaushälfte in toller Lage

Im Haus ist alles vorhanden was man braucht. Durch die Lage des Hauses muss man beim Einkaufen an alles denken, denn man nicht mal kurz los gehen um was zu besorgen. Dafür liegt das Haus in dem kleinen Dorf, eine handvoll Häuser, aber landschaftlich super schön. Der einzige Nachteil ist, dass man selbst die Bettwäsche und Handtücher waschen muss.

Schönes Haus mit tollen Ausblicken

Wir haben die Tage hier sehr genossen und uns super wohl gefühlt in diesem schönen Haus in wunderbarer Lage: Bergblick, Meeresblick, Ausgangspunkt für Küstenwanderung und ein süßes Kaffee um die Ecke! Wir können das Haus auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Erlebnisreiche Tage am Vulkan

Wir haben uns von der ersten Minute an in diesem schönen Haus sehr wohl gefühlt. Nette und praktische Einrichtung, wunserschöne Ausblicke auf Meer und Berge- man kann praktisch vom Fenster aus Vögel und mit Glück vielleicht sogar Wale beobachten! Zu Fuss zum umtosten Klippenstrand ist es nicht weit, und viele schöne Ziele auf Snaefellsnes sind gut zu erreichen. Man muss nur auf viel Wind gefasst sein, wenn man aus der Tür tritt. Die Reinigung und das Waschen/ Trockne der Wäsche nimmt einige Zeit in Anspruch, bei der Reiseplanung einplanen! Vielen Dank für dei schöne Unterkunft- wir empfehlen sie gern weiter! Angela

Traumurlaub

Wir verbrachten wunderschöne 2 Wochen in Hellnar. Das Haus war für uns 4 Personen perfekt. Wir kamen jeden Abend glücklich zurück in unser Haus. Man muss sich einfach bewusst sein, dass Hellnar total ab vom Schuss ist. Man kann nicht eben mal in einen nahegelegenen Supermarkt gehen um einzukaufen, denn die Distanzen sind sehr gross. Wenn wir das nächste Mal nach Island kommen, werden wir den Wohnstandort nach 1 Woche wechseln um mehr von der traumhaften Insel kennenzulernen. Wir können aber die Halbinsel Snaefellsnes und das Ferienhaus zu 100% empfehlen. Also wir kommen bestimmt wieder.

+ Very nice location Nice decor Fully equipped and furnished kitchen - Photos in the advertisement do not show the rented property, why? The area information of the Cottage may be challenged The additional rental contract after fully payment is a novelty for us and it contains "difficult" clauses. The final cleaning by the guest, including laundry, etc. is unusual. In total, half a day of vacation should be estimated for that.

Very nice Cottage in great area

very nice furnished cottage in beautiful surrounding the Cottage is part of some other cottages but you don't hear anything from the others. The surrounding and view is wonderful and you can do a lot of things. The kitchen is very well equipped and also the beds are very good, so we can recommend it for other people. It where wonderful 10 days we stayed.

Entspannung und Erholung pur

Helmar ist ein wunderschöner Ort auf Island. Von hier kann man sehr viele schöne Touren starten. Jeden Tag sind wir gern wieder in unser wunderschönes Cottage zurückgekommen. Ruhe und Natur pur mit vielen Vögeln und sogar Walen direkt vor der Tür. Wir werden uns gern an die Zeit erinnern und anderen das Haus empfehlen.

sehr kuschelig und schön am Snaefellsnes Berg gelegen

Da die Unterkunft laut Beschreibung auch von den Eigentümern genutzt wird, ist es sehr persönlich und wohnlich eingerichtet. Das Haus bietet problemlos Platz für 5 Personen, allerdings wird's dann zeitlich kritisch im Bad (da nur eines vorhanden). Ansonsten ist alles da. Mir persönlich fehlt eine Sauna, aber das wussten wir ja vorher. Anstrengend ist das "self cleaning"; ich persönlich bevorzuge eine zu bezahlende Endreinigung. Für Nordlichtfotografen ist es eine ideale location, denn man kann (so fern vorhanden) schon vor dem Haus mit dem Snaefellsnes Berg im Hintergund fotografieren und auch die 500 m entfernte Kirche von Hellnar bietet ein schönes Motiv. Von meiner Seite aus 5 Sterne!

Beautiful house in an incredible location!

We stayed at Cottage Nr. 6 for 4 nights and we just loved it! The house was spotless clean and is very nice decorated! All the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The owner were very helpful, whenever we needed it. They even recommended us a car rental company, where we found a great deal. The landscape outside of the cottage is incredible! The Snaefellness Peninsula is our favorite place in Iceland. You can feel the energy of the Snaefellskökull and we even saw the Northern Lights for two nights! - a dream came true! There are so many things, that you can explore! I can highly recommend this cottage to everyone, who wants to have quiet nights with a lot of stars and an awesome landscape around you! We already miss this place and will surely come back one day!

A few relaxing days in house No. 6

We stayed in house no . 6 a few relaxing days with sun , storm and auroras on Snaefellsnes , our favorite region in Iceland . The location is ideal for the many great excursions that one has from here . The pretty cottage is very cozy and decorated in a classic style . A great view of the sea is offered . At night it is very quiet , ideal for relaxing. We have therefore felt very comfortable and can definitely recommend it ! The owners are very accommodating and gave us valuable hints for excursions and activities . Thanks for the great time and your hospitality ! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back !

A Comfortable Home Base to Explore the Snaefellsbaer Peninsula

My wife and I spent four nights in this duplex cottage in the town of Hellnar on the Snaefellsbaer Peninsula. We were greeted by an amazing display of the Northern Lights on our first night. The place was comfortable and quiet and had all the amenities needed to feel like home for a few days. The views are stunning--the sea in one direction and mountains and the volcano that dominates the west end of the peninsula in the other. There are several little places to eat within a 5-10 minutes drive and even more if you're willing to drive 30-45 minutes. Two things to note. First, all the bedrooms are upstairs and the staircase (really more like a ladder) is very steep--going up isn't too bad, but coming down can be a little scary. Second, the bathroom is tight. We adapted and it was fine. Overall, the home was a great place to explore the Snaefellsbaer Peninsula.

A wonderful experience

My wife and I have just returned from an 8 day stay in this delightful property. The cottage itself is spotless and well appointed; the furniture in the sitting area is very comfortable, as is the dining area; the kitchen is well equipped, with a very good selection of dishes, glassware, pots and pans etc. All appliances ( range, oven, dishwasher, washer, dryer, microwave) are modern and in good order. Some rather steep stairs lead to three bedrooms and a cosy sitting area upstairs. The beds and bedding are high quality and extremely comfortable. As this trip was my fifth to Iceland, we felt no need to be on the move and change locations. It was a real treat to spend the entire trip exploring the Snaefellsness Peninsula in depth. We were out and active each day, and agreed that the coastal hikes were ( for us) best enjoyed in inclement weather….it seemed to suit the drama of the landscape. This is simply a wonderful region. Communication with the host was clear and efficient, the check in and out procedures were well explained, and we both agreed that this was one of our favourite trips. Highly recommended !

Wonderful stay in Hellnar!

From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. It was comfortable and peaceful. We had everything we needed and it was a calming and comfortable base to explore this beautiful & awe-inspiring area of Iceland. It was also the perfect home in which to sit with a coffee, listen to music, put together a puzzle, and spend time relaxing with my family. I recommend it highly!

Lovely cottage in amazing area

A lovely cottage with amazing views from all windows. You immediately feel at home in: superbly equipped, comfortable and cosy interior, quiet and a perfect location for exploring the peninsula. Even without taking the car, you can make great accessible hikes. The owners are very kind and attentive. I can't wait to go back for longer!

Great Stay

The stay we had was just what the doctor ordered. This was not a leisure trip, but my mom lives in Olafsvik, and not well. So we drove there daily during our stay. The cottage is very clean, and well equipped. Location was amazing!!

Hellnar Cottage

The cottage was perfect for our stay in Snaefellnes Pennisula. The cottage was spacious, clean, and contained everything we needed. The host was very responsive, helpful, and accommodating. The location was beautiful and within an hour’s drive of everything we wanted to see and do (many were within 30 minutes). We would definitely stay here again if given the chance!

Beautiful, peaceful, spacious retreat

We absolutely loved our time here. The full kitchen and extra space was so helpful for our family with children. The location was breathtakingly beautiful and convenient to so many of the area's attractions. The decor inside added to the sense of peace and relaxation. We would love to come back some day!
