Welcome to Cleveland, a modern Victorian property situated just 15 min walk from York centre and York Races and 10min from York train station. Cleveland has been lovingly renovated to the highest of standards creating modern accommodation in the city. The house offers two large bedrooms, a separate fully equipped stylish kitchen, a diningroom, livingroom with a smart TV, and a luxury bathroom with 2-metre walk-in shower. Outdoor offers a private south-facing courtyard and free parking.

The Space
Cleveland consists of a private entrance that leads you directly into the property. On entering this period property you will find a beautiful diningroom with parquet flooring and a large table to seat four guests. To your left is the modern livingroom with a three-seater sofa and smart TV. Moving on back to the kitchen, a fully equipped modern kitchen with a cooker, fridge, Dualit toaster, and kettle, everything you need for your stay. The kitchen has a handmade black sliding barn door and exterior stable door to let more of the sunshine into the kitchen.
Leading upstairs you will find two cosy large bedrooms with luxury bedding, storage, and panelling detail. Moving on you come to the large modern bathroom with a 2-metre walk-in rainfall shower, large vanity unit sink, WC, and toiletries. The front of the property offers free on-street parking for one car and the back of the property is a beautiful south-facing walled courtyard with seating for four to enjoy the space under the night-lit pergola. Cleveland has been finished with our guests in mind, with a blend of contemporary furniture and fittings in a traditional building offering a unique experience for every guest.
Cleveland is close to ‘Bishy Road’ Bishopthorpe Road, a popular cosmopolitan destination just south of the ancient walls of York, a short walk from the city centre. With independent shops, deli’s, cafes and businesses to enjoy.

Access:
To enter the property a unique entry code will be sent to you for access and a key fob awaits you within the property to use during your stay.
Enjoy a penny tile welcome as you enter our Holgate property, Cleveland.
Cleveland is a couples and family-friendly property, with the amenities and special extra touches to make your stay an enjoyable one.
Guests have access to the whole of Cleveland House with a private courtyard to enjoy during your stay, along with free on-street parking for one car.
Parking details will be given once a booking is made. We will also give details on paid parking for any additional cars.

Other things to note:
There are stairs up to the two bedrooms and one bathroom.
A travel cot is available on request, free of charge. Please bring bedding for the cot.
The internet wifi code will be provided within the property.
Parking in York center is on average up to £2.50 an hour, so the FREE parking at the property and the short walk is ideal. The property is also walking distance to York Races.
There are a number of electric charging points in York, you will be able to use your app to locate these for your specific car.

The property is located in a traditional terraced street which includes a unique community garden, playground, and basketball court, and just a short walk leading to a beautiful river bank walk into the City Centre.

Wonderful stay at Cleveland St, York

A very well deserved 5* rated stay in a wonderfully restored house. Beautifully appointed and clean, with free on street parking. Just a 15 minute walk from city centre. Sarah is an excellent host.

great, well-maintained home. We really enjoyed our two days in York.

The communication for this rental was excellent. Every facet of the apartment was explained in a well-crafted binder with useful information about the city, transportation, appliances, etc. Great host, would definitely stay again. (Just note there is no laundry).

Beautiful house. Thought of everything- even the umbrella under the stairs came in useful! Well located and convenient for walking into York (Note: there are quite a few steps on the way). Had a great couple of days exploring the city with my daughter.

Great flat for a stay in York

My husband, dad, and I stayed for just a couple nights at 31 Cleveland, and wished we had stayed an extra day. York is an adorable town, with so much to do, and this flat is a very comfortable place in a quiet neighborhood. It was easily walkable to most of what we wanted to do, with good restaurants and grocery stores nearby. The flat is fantastic—all the communication you could need from your host and more. A great shower, a very nice kitchen, and comfortable living spaces. You can’t go wrong booking here! I’d come back for a longer stay anytime.

Perfect home in York

The house was exactly as advertised. Beautiful and an easy walk into the city. The house is on a very narrow street with cars parked on both sides but we easily parked right outside the front door and didn’t need the car after that, it’s an easy walk to the Rail museum, the minster or the castle museum, all of which we recommend. We so loved the property that my daughter booked to stay in August before we’d even checked out. The walk in shower was excellent.

WONDERFUL PROPERTY

We had a lovely stay at this property . The house has been refurbished and so everything is clean and new. It is tastefully furnished and decorated. The beds are very comfortable, The kitchen and bathroom are well equipped. It was also very quiet during our stay which meant we could have relaxing time. It fulfilled all we could ask from a property during our stay in York.

Gorgeous house, great location, highly recommend it!

We stayed here for 2 nights and had great communication from Sarah before we arrived and while we were staying in York, she was very helpful and proactive. The house is just beautiful and decorated/designed to a very high standard - we were all picking up hints to try out at home. The kitchen is well stocked and there are lots of little touches that make it very homely. The outdoor area is lovely too and if it had been slightly warmer we would have made more use of it! The house is in a quiet street, which is not far from the railway station but we couldn't hear any trains. It was about an 8 minute walk into York but with lots of lovely shops along the way. We had a lovely weekend and will definitely be back.

Delightful renovation

A charming and most comfortable renovation. The interior design was well thought out including the delightful patio, with modern lighting, at the rear of the property. The smart heating was very good as was the hot water. Upstairs could do with television sets, especially in the winter. We had an excellent stay! Thank you.
