This villa is ideally suited to couples or a small family group, with an older child. The villa is not suited to toddlers, but a baby in a cot is absolutely fine. The owner will be happy to explain in more detail upon request.
When staying anywhere on holiday the number one priority is location. Absolutely vital that the location is safe, located in a quality, quiet, residential area and is well served by good restaurants with no rowdy bars or subject to groups of drunken holidaymakers or locals.
Casa Laurena is a high quality 2 bedroom semi-detached villa (actually 3 bedrooms but we only use 2 bedrooms for rental purposes as the other is used for storage) and is a truly outstanding contemporary modern style property. Designed by a well known Portuguese architect and built by an equally well known Algarvian builder.
Located in a beautiful, peaceful and secluded setting. Arguably the finest location in the Algarve being only 5 minutes walk from the new exclusive W Residences (Marriot Group). This is a new 7 star Hotel, which also has apartments costing up to £2.9M. Chosen by Marriot for their only 7 star hotel in Portugal is a good indicator of the quality and standard of the nearby location.
Also, only 5 minutes walk to Villa Serena, owned by the tennis player Serena Williams; Serena would not buy here unless it was in a top quality area. There are also a number of other "celebrities", who own property in the area.
The villa affords absolute privacy being situated well away from the noisy tourist areas yet only a few minutes drive to some the gorgeous beaches close to Albufeira. Several beaches are walkable being less than 1 mile away. Only 5 minutes drive to the Old Town or the New Town (The "Strip" as it is sometime known). It is only 5 minutes drive to Gale beach, another gorgeous sandy beach that goes on for miles.
There are numerous supermarkets within 5 minutes drive and several within walking distance. Loads of restaurants (at least 15 top quality restaurants) and bars walkable within 5 to 10 minutes but not close enough for noise to be a concern.
There is easy access to the A22 motorway and the EN125; driving time to Faro airport is 35 minutes to 40 minutes with Vilamoura only 25 to 30 minutes drive away.
The villa is in a gated "village", entry by electronic gates, of only 6 villas but all with their own private gardens and large private pool, so no sharing with other people. In keeping with the surroundings, the garden is well stocked with shrubs, palm trees and flowers, which border the private pool adjacent to the terrace.
On the pool terrace there is a barbecue, two dining areas, and a lovely seating area with high quality garden sofa & chairs. Of course, there are sunbeds and parasols beside the pool. The pool and the garden has lovely subdued lighting at night so fabulous to sit with a glass of wine and just chill.
In terms of accommodation, the villa is on 2 floors. The lounge / dining room and kitchen are on the ground floor with the bedrooms on the upper level. The new fully fitted kitchen has a double oven, single oven / microwave, warming drawer, fridge freezer, wine fridge, hob, dishwasher and stunning Silestone worktops. There is a washing machine located in a separate utility cupboard.
There are 3 double bedrooms but we only rent as a two bedroom villa. Both bedrooms are the same size, have super-king beds, are en-suite with large walk in showers, have large fitted wardrobes and have air conditioning. One of the bedrooms has direct access to the large first floor terrace. The second bedroom has it's own balcony, with sitting area.
The large first floor terrace, mentioned above, is secluded and private, with fabulous views, and is in addition to the large pool terrace. Here you will find two seating areas with high quality garden sofas & chairs and sunbeds.
The property is fully double glazed, has an alarm system & CCTV monitored by Pro-Tech, Satellite TV with Sky (Sky & BT Sports) by internet streaming, fully air-conditioned, Wifi fibre internet (over 200mbs), BBQ, automatic garden irrigation system, coloured pool lights, garden lighting and solar panels for hot water. There is a large driveway and parking area and entry is by electronic gates.

NOTE 6 - FROM MAY 2024 PORTUGAL HAS INTRODUCED A DAILY TOURIST TAX THAT MUST BE PAID ON ARRIVAL TO THE VILLA MANAGER - €2 PER DAY UP TO A MAXIMUM OF 7 DAYS FOR ALL GUESTS AGED 13 AND OVER.
Many golf courses can be accessed easily. The Vilamoura courses are accessed in 25 minutes drive and Salgados within 5 minutes. Salgados is only 1.5 miles by foot and great to walk round even if not a golfer as it borders a nature reserve, several lagoons with a variety of birdlife.
The local villa manager can organise golf on your behalf but if you are a golfer I would imagine you have already conducted a fair amount of research. However, if you need help please just ask.
Unlike many other owners, we employ the services of a locally based villa manager and you can rely on them to assist if any problems arise. Rogerio and Nuno Alexandre own the real estate agent and villa management company Albuera Domus and have an office in Albufeira. Rogerio and Nuno are available 24/7 to handle any emergencies and so give you comfort that you will be well looked after and given support if needed. They will personally meet & greet you at the villa, show you around and make certain you have everything you need.
We follow 'Clean and Safe' requirements to comply with the minimum hygiene and careful cleaning requirements for the prevention and control of the virus. However, given the complexities of the COVID "virus" we cannot give any guarantees in this respect.

Casa Laurena was built in 2009 but has just undergone significant upgrade, with new top quality kitchen, new en-suite off the main bedroom, decoration inside & out and the pool area & first floor terrace completely re-modelled..
For beach lovers, it's only a 15 to 20 minute walk to either the beautiful secluded Castelo beach (the owner's favourite) or Laurenco beach, both having a bar & restaurant. Gale, another fabulous sandy beach, is only 5 minutes drive and walkable being just over 1.2 miles.
The beach and golf course of Salgados is only 5 minutes drive, not to mention all the other top golf courses available in the area accessible by a short drive.
The Apolonia super market is only 15 minutes minutes walk. Also a short drive to a Spar and Oceana supermarket, 5 minutes drive to Aldi and 12 minutes drive to the Algarve Shopping Centre, where the very large Continente supermarket is located.
The location is absolutely ideal for those looking for peace and quiet with lovely restaurants a short walk away but close enough to the more busy areas of Albufeira Old & New Town.
