Private sun trap rear patio and front courtyard (adjacent to owners property). 2 well behaved dogs welcome. Access to most of 9 acres of owners garden/land which is perfect to exercise yourself or your dogs. Near Instow. Bude and Hartland 30 mins, and easy access for shopping in Bideford or Barnstaple.

Great for Instow beach, Westward Ho! Etc

Lovely walks or biking along Tarka trail about 10mins away.

We have a small model village too !

To protect your data, security and privacy we wish to inform you we have CCTV operating on the property which will capture your arrivals and departures in your vehicle. Please note there are none in the courtyard of the front of cottage, in the cottage itself, or at the back of the cottage. The cameras only cover the main drive and rear of our house. If you do not wish us to have the CCTV in operation during your stay please advise and we will delete any records of your stay

As owners we have both had both all our Covid and flu Jabs so are bang upto date.

Please note we have our own well behaved (mostly!) dog on site

Excellent base to visit North Devon

The location was great, we were able to travel easily and reach Port Issac andTintagel and Bude in Cornwall and also Lynton and Lynmouth, The property was very clean and very comfortable. The garden at the front and back were secure for our dog. We enjoyed it.

Very restful week

Lovely accommodation. Everything was there for us. Great hosts. 5* cream tea left for us and they let me have some of their runner beans for our dinner one evening. Definitely need a car to get around .

Wonderful cottage, friendly and helpful hosts

A lovely modern cottage that was extremely well appointed with everything we needed. Hosts were great and very helpful. The ‘Devon welcome’ of delicious scones, clotted cream and home-grown strawberries was delicious, a real treat. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing holiday cottage

Lovely cottage

From the initial booking to leaving after the holiday was a breeze. Lovely, clean cottage in beautiful grounds, ideal if you have a dog. Our dog loved it. The cottage is very well equipped. Graham and Andy were perfect hosts. If we go back to the area we would definitely stay there again.

House-Hunting Trip

Fabulous property with everything you could possibly need. Our hosts were amazing and very helpful with our quest to find a new home in the area. The cottage is light and airy and very spacious, spotlessly clean and well situated roughly half way between Appledore/Instow to the North and Bude to the South. One man and his dog getaway.

On first entering the cottage it was very noticeable how clean and tidy it was and there were many well thought out useful additions like towels for the dogs plus throws if any get on the furniture. Considering how terrible the weather was I had a great break from home in a lovely cottage.

Exceptional cottage in beautiful grounds

Just returned from a week at this property. We were welcomed by Graham one of the owners who ran through details of the property. The cottage was exceptionally clean with all mod cons and fully extensive kitchen utensils. The hosts even left fresh scones with jam and cream and a bottle of wine. I would definitely recommend this property.

Summer in Devon

Apart from the British weather the stay in Devon was relaxing and restful. The cottage was a good size, clean with everything thought out well by the hosts Graham and Andy. The hosts were welcoming and at all times tried to keep our holiday private, although helpful if we required anything which was very little. The grounds were huge and more than enough to exercise our Golden Retriever when required. All in all great accommodation and hosts.

Lovely place to stay in beautiful countryside.

The cottage is situated in beautiful countryside not far from the coast. It has everything you need for a very comfortable stay and is very dog friendly with a fenced in patio area as well as a large area of land to walk a dog. Instow beach nearby is an excellent place to take the dogs for a walk and Appledore is a lovely to sit and eat fish and chips on the sea front. Graham is very welcoming and explained everything to us on arrival. The welcome cream tea, strawberries, milk and wine were very much appreciated along with the basics such as salt, pepper, sugar, cooking oil and sauces. I would definitely recommend this cottage for a relaxing, stress free holiday that is about 15 minutes drive to the coast. Thank you Graham and Andy.

Absolutely wonderful stay in Hillandale Cottage

One of the nicest we have ever stayed in , if not THE nicest! Everything was perfect, the accommodation was so comfortable, clean, well equipped, with so many extra touches to make it like a home from home.
