Über den Gastgeber
Zu Gast bei Richard Roberts

William Dadda, a village fisherman, and his fishing partner bought The Watch House as a fishing cellar and boat store when the Coastguard decided it was no longer needed in 1925. Following the death of William, his grandson Will inherited the half share and in 1948 bought the other half share from the now retired fishing partner.
Will and his wife Nancy converted the first floor Watch Rooms to a holiday flat and first let it in 1960 when they advertised in the Lady magazine and all guest contact was by Royal Mail post. Pricing in the early years was in Guineas.
The property ownership has now been vested in the Dadda Family Settlement and the trust will continue to rent the apartment for short stay holidays. The income from letting is used to maintain the fabric of this historic Listed building dating from the late 1830s. The slate roof was replaced in 2019 and the bay window restored in 2020 using local tradesmen.
We are fortunate that many people share our family's love of this building and return to holiday year after year and help maintain the fabric of the building. The property is available from just before Easter till early November each year. Out of season, the property has to be protected against the tides and floods that could make it inaccessible at this time of the year.

For sea views and people watching.
Das macht diese Unterkunft einzigartig
Built at the heart of the beach to control smuggling no boat could enter or leave the bay without being seen by the Coastguards on watch duty in the first floor watch rooms. You can now enjoy the same views. No other property in the village has direct beach access and a slipway
Guests can keep a small boat on the slipway in front of the building.
