Beautifully-restored 18th century gated villa with pool in exquisitely tranquil setting. Relax by the pool, on a shaded terrace or stroll through the garden and olive groves, taking in the scent of lavender and rosemary in the evening air. The villa offers peace and total seclusion and yet lies within 3kms of Monte San Savino, a little gem of a town off the mainstream tourist trail and offering a number of excellent restaurants and a handful of bars and shops. The villa offers easy international access, just a 1hr drive from Florence and Perugia airports (Rome and Pisa airports are roughly 2hrs away). The magnificence of Florence, Perugia and Assisi are all easily accessible as day trips. Even closer, the magic of Siena, Arezzo, Cortona, Pienza, Montepulciano and Lago Trasimeno are all within a 45 minute drive. For golf enthusiasts, the superb 18 hole championship Antognolla golf course is within reach, just an hour away. Villa L'Eremo is perfectly placed to enjoy all the wonders that Tuscany has to offer.
The villa offers 4 principal bedrooms (3 en suite) and a further smaller 5th bedroom, with a total of 4 bath/shower rooms and a WC. The master suite has an adjoining loggia with steps down to the garden. The ground floor consists of a large reception room with fireplace and double doors onto the garden, along with two further reception rooms and a bedroom with direct access to the garden. There is a large country kitchen with rustic table and all the typical amenities. Dining space is plentiful both indoors and outdoors on the terrace (both covered and uncovered).
The property offers a beautiful pool area, set slightly apart from the house, meaning peace and relaxation can be found at all times. The feeling of space continues throughout the garden and adjoining land, with the property enclosed in its own grounds which stretch several hectares. This really is a peaceful idyll, and yet the villa is within a 5 minute drive of the charming Monte San Savino, and only an hour from Florence.
Some safety essentials: there are many steps in and around the property and the floors in the property are stone/tiled so guests must be careful moving around the property (especially children). Guests must be vigilant about fire risks, especially in summer when the surrounding land is very dry, but also in winter when lighting a log fire or using the bread oven (avoid on windy days). The pool depth is around 2m at the deep end. The private use pool is unsupervised.
Mobile phone reception at the house is very limited (better up the hill by the road or by the pool). There is wifi internet (can sometimes be unreliable) and a landline phone.
