Emerald Beach Allamanda is part of a complex of six luxury beachfront villas
Emerald Beach 2 is a delightfully sedate home-from-home, offering graceful interiors finessed with a distinctive colonial flair and old-world charm. The elegant white-washed timber ceilings, terracotta tiling and handsome colonnaded veranda nod to the local planation style homes.
In quintessential Bajan style, there is a natural blend between indoor and outdoor living; the arched French windows lead to a sublime private terrace. So genteel and so civilised, for an afternoon tea from porcelain tea-set on the wicker or decorative wrought-iron. Barbados seems to offer a unique blend of English refinement - afternoon teas and cricket matches on the green, along with vibrant, rum-punch fuelled colourful local life.
Emerald Beach offers a haven to retreat from the crowds, its airy, laid-back glamour and simple palette of whites makes for a comforting oasis. Hitting the right note between luxury and homey - this abode offers pared back open plan living, with notes of local raw materials ever present; marble, wicker and timber. There is an ease and grace to this charming home, whilst each of the three bedrooms has accents of quirky colour or style.
From lime green soft furnishings, to the timeless rocking chair, quiet writer’s desk to the carved pottery lamps and floral fabrics, Emerald Beach 2 has character in abundance. Guests will naturally drop the pace, and enter into the spirit of this vibrant home, enjoying al fresco meals on the porch, overlooking dazzling ocean views, or sitting back with a cocktail at the end of a busy day whilst the sun softens over the bay.
Every comfort has been considered, whilst on hand staff and discreet security as well as the wider complex ensure guest’s every need is met. A chic home, Emerald Beach 2 blends Caribbean ease and sunny optimism with colonial refinement and subtle elegance at every turn!
What we love about it
Set on the cusp of a fine, white sand beach- Gibbes Beach
Private patios along with communal outdoor spaces for the best of both worlds
Discreet staff presence for an additional layer of luxury; cook, maid and security to meet guests’ every need
What you should know
The large salt water pool is communal - although patios are private
Set in a complex of other residences (e.g. not for those who wish for complete seclusion)
Gardens are communal (over an acre of luscious, tropical overgrowth!)
Location
Gibbs beach is much quieter than its neighbouring Mullins Beach, known for its peerless beauty, on arguably one of the finest stretches of coast in the world, this is one of the island’s best beaches. Located north of Holetown, Gibbs Beach is backed by swaying palm trees, offering sparkling crystal waters and flawless white sands.
Several vendors offer lounge chairs, umbrellas and refreshments, such as the quintessentially Caribbean rum punch. Long enough for a stroll, catamaran charters cruise into the bay offering trips to Bridgetown and beyond, with snorkelling and sumptuous lunches on board. This stretch of coast is known as the “platinum coast,” for its fine beaches with white sands and clear, azure waters.
As well as the exclusive developments and international jet-set crowd that are drawn to this spot, visitors can delve into colourful, historical local life, architecture and traditions.
From rum festivals, to the colourful “crop over” festival (a tradition dating back to the plantation days), to indulgent beach massages, to Friday night’s fried fish nights, visitors will experience a colourful, inspiring blend of tradition and luxury.
Water sports enthusiasts will be in their element, from sailing to snorkelling, jet-skiing to kite-surfing, Barbados has it all. One of the greatest delights of this island is boarding the sparkling waters for a catamaran cruise, along with a decadent buffet meal and drinks.
Close by Holetown will offer a slice of local Bajan life. The Chattel village is a melting pot of artisans, offering local crafts, art and jewellery. The Chattel houses provide a striking contrast to the colonial residences with their dazzling white coral facades and open verandas; the former are vividly coloured with fancy gables and gingerbread fretwork.
The west coast of Barbados is a blend of exclusive and high-end developments attracting a well-heeled, international jet-set, majestic beaches and intriguing, colourful local life.

Best Suited For: All Ages
Emerald Beach 2 is an extremely safe and secure dwelling for families with children. With concierge services, all the amenities of a wider resort, a cook and maid as well as security, parents can also enjoy a break.
With stunning communal areas, including gardens, a shared salt water pool (kinder to little ones skin), and space to romp and roam, little ones will be able to make holiday friends and enjoy the freedom of this safe environment.
The beaches on the west coast are known as being extremely family-friendly, with shallow waters and long, open stretches. Both Mullins Beach and Gibbs beach offer an array of amenities, from water sports, to refreshments and loungers with parasols making for long and leisurely family days out.
Close by Harrison’s Cave offers a journey beneath the limestone surface that makes up much of the island - a mysterious 30 minute underground guided train trip taking in crystallised formations, intricate streams and awe-inspiring caverns. From collecting shells at the luscious Bathsheba Park, to a unique dining expense for the island’s traditional Friday night live music and fresh-off-the-docks flying fish, Barbados offers a vibrant, sensory experience for children.
Barbados offers a mystical experience for youngsters; one of the island’s traditions of swimming horses at dawn will leave exquisite memories for kids to cherish, and wildlife from tortoises to parrots to brocket deer will intrigue youngsters.
For older kids, Bridgetown offers several tours of intriguing shipwrecks, tropical fish and coral formations. Or, a combination of 4x4 jeep tour through tropical forest followed by a leisurely catamaran trip for a full family day out, finished up with sumptuous buffet at the end of the day.
