We had an overall great stay. 4th trip to the area, and part of our enjoyment is picking and staying in a beautiful cabin. The great: owner, check in and check out were simple. There was a small leak under the kitchen sink, and maintenance was very quick and professional. The location was amazing for those wanting to be near town, or who want the mountain experience without driving in the mountains to get it. Very, very convenient location. We did sacrifice view for convenience, but it was worth it for this trip. It was our first time traveling in which our kids were driving and going between town and cabin a lot. It was perfect for that. We also got to bring our doggos and we are always grateful for that.
What could have been better:. We tend to be somewhat forgiving when staying places that allow pets. It takes a lot of trust for an owner to allow pets around such amazing and expensive properties. That said, there was a very strong smell of urine in the downstairs bedroom, mostly near the closet, but it would get quite strong. We bought some air freshener and it helped tremendously.
The other two areas of improvement are more "nit-picky". First, there were three TVs, and they all were pretty small by today's standards. Even if the BR TVs were small, a larger one would have been nice in the living area. 2) there was a nice porch swing, but other outside furniture was either in poor shape or very flimsy. We are all on the chunky side and three of the 4 really couldn't sit on the back porch comfortably at all.
We tried to start the gas logs, but it wouldn't come on. My husband is usually pretty knowledgeable about that, and he's not sure how they worked.
Finally, again, we are very grateful for being able to bring our puppers. But, if you're traveling with dogs, be aware that the on-site dog bathroom area at the cabin was small and steep. We figured out a way to do it safely, but tried to take the dogs to a dod park every day.
Thanks for being part of our great trip!!
