Petite Marmotte is our very spacious 34m2 studio apartment in the high-end residence Le Refuge du Montagnard in Arc 1950. A perfect place to enjoy a ski holiday but also a beautiful area to enjoy in the summer with many activities.
The apartment is located in the sought after residence Le Refuge du Montagnard. The Residence has its own Lifestyle Manager in the building, who is here to help you with all your queries and give you the best tips on the area. It also has renovated common areas and benefits an exterior hot tub and indoor Sauna and steam room in the same building. The Sauna and steam room have been recently renovated and a great place to enjoy. Guests also benefit from the use of an indoor pool and heated outdoor pool (in the building across).
Please note that the opening and closing times of the swimming pool, jacuzzi, hammam and sauna are from 10am - 8pm (in season).
There are a two comfortable twin beds, bunk beds, a well fitted kitchen with dining table for 4, 2 seats and the beds to lounge in front the television. If required, we have a cot and highchair available on request at a charge of €30 for each.
Linen is not available for out of season and summer bookings. It is possible to rent it. Price on request.
All apartments balconies in Le Refuge du Montagnard are closed for use at the present time.
There will be hand soap, shower gel and shampoo in dispensers. New sponges, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and cleaning products will be provided as well as some toilet roll for when you arrive.
There is Wifi, cable tv and a superb view towards Mont Blanc!
The kitchen is fully equipped with Raclette machine, Nespresso machine, dishwasher, oven and hob.
The residence is well maintained with a large reception, renovated ski lockers, recently redone Spa area with sauna and steam room and a large outdoor jacuzzi. Also free access to an indoor swimming pool and gym which is located in the building Prince des Cimes (access across the pedestrian street and through internal corridors or via the underground parking,,,,we go with our dressing gowns!). Please note that the opening and closing times of the swimming pool, jacuzzi, hammam and sauna are from 10am - 8pm.
It is completely ski-in ski-out and the ski lessons are in the pedestrian street so very easy with children.
Arc 1950 is a family resort with activities and entertainment weekly.
In the summer, there are hikes and cycling trails from the village. The environment is superb. There area also activities included in the rental like archery, mountain bike taster session, aquagym etc...those are provided via a card (details on request). There are also free entertainment activites in the summer like themed wednesdays which is the children day, circus activities or building a wooden house etc...it is very enjoyable as a family as there are so many things to do outdoor.
From the village, you have direct access to a variety of itineraries for all levels that will allow you to cross different sites and enjoy magnificent views. These descents will provide you with great sensations in the Alpine mountains of Les Arcs. With its 149 kms of marked mountain itineraries accessible to all, a very wide choice of mountain bike disciplines is offered to you thanks to the 10 ski lifts accessible by bike. You can get all the information about the timetables and prices of the transport tickets offered at the ticket office of the ski lifts located to the right of the entrance to the Résidence du Hameau du Glacier.
In the village, it is possible to hire mountain bikes for all levels in the various shops in the village where you will receive the best advice.
Residents have access to a bicycle garage to store your equipment (bicycles are not allowed in the apartments). You must provide anti-theft equipment for each of your bikes, knowing that a set of security cameras are located at the entrance of the premises. In addition, the number of electric bikes available for your enjoyment in Les Arcs has increased.
In the village, there is a well stocked supermarket, some restaurants, sport shops, clothes shops and as sweet shop doing wonderful chocolate waffles!!
As a family we have been holidaying in Arc 1950 in the winter and summer for over 10 years and always look forward to it so we would love for you to experience Arc 1950 by staying in Petite Marmotte !

Underground parking (additional cost), can be booked online on Effia Arc 1950 Website or on departure.
The car park is equipped with two charging points for TESLA electric vehicles and one charging point for all types of electric vehicles.
Getting to Arc 1950 from the airport
There are four airports you may travel from:
Lyon Saint Exupéry: 205km / 2 hours 35 minutes
Grenoble Saint Geoirs: 206 km / 2 hours 35 minutes by car
Chambéry - Aix: 125km / 1 hour 50 minutes by car
Genève: 202km / 2 hours 45 minutes by car
By car: A43 to Albertville, 2x2 lanes to Moûtiers, then the N90 to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, and finally the D119 to the destination. Covered parking is available for a fee.
The Ben’s Bus network of shared transfers include buses from Geneva Airport and Chambery Airport to Les Arcs. They have a stop in Les Arcs 1950. From Grenoble and Lyon Airports, their shuttles go as far as Bourg Saint Maurice, the village at the bottom of the mountain and the transport hub for Les Arcs. Bourg-St-Maurice has a train station with TGV and international services. A funicular railway connects Bourg St Maurice to Arc 1600 from where there are free buses to Arc 1950.
