Formerly a working kiln, The Hop Kiln has been beautifully renovated
Formerly a working kiln, The Hop Kiln has been tastefully converted to create a spacious and unique holiday let. The property is set adjacent to a working farm on the North Herefordshire and South Shropshire border. The owners have beautifully renovated the property by carefully maintaining the exposed beams and brickwork, while perfectly forging a modern and stylish home from home. The property also has views over the cider apple orchard and across the glorious and enclosed lawned garden. There is plenty of space inside and out to be enjoyed with family and friends.
The Hop Kiln is set in deep countryside which is ideal for avid walkers and cyclists, there is an array of country pubs and restaurants close by as well as numerous apple and cider distilleries. Within 2 miles there are also several supermarkets and local amenities, you can also enjoy a short walk into the village where there is a working dairy producing and selling local, artisan cheeses. They also run a Tea room where you can get an excellent coffee, proper leafed tea, homemade cakes and light lunches. The property is also conveniently situated close to the Welsh border which offers some fantastic scenery. Hay-on-Wye, the Brecon Beacons and the Shropshire Hills are all within easy reach by car.
Approximately 10 miles away is the Cathedral City of Hereford featuring the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library exhibition, which holds the oldest maps in the country and the largest collection of chained books. Also nearby is the historic town of Ludlow, dominated by Ludlow Castle that sits on a cliff looking over the River Teme. You could spend hours strolling through this historic town, make sure to work up an appetite - Ludlow is also a gastronome's delight. The Hop Kiln is also on the Black and White Trail, which is characterised by the number of timbered and half-timbered houses in the area. The 40-mile circular route takes you through some rich landscapes of orchards and hopyards, not to mention plenty of picturesque black and white villages like Weobley and Pembridge. The owners farm offers some lovely walks, fishing is available on the River Arrow at an additional charge and there is also a tennis court available on request via the owner.
Also available to book at this location is The Hayloft (sleeping two guests).
Outside:
There is a private, fully enclosed garden with large lawned area, terrace with outdoor lounger chairs and parasol, chimney style fire place/barbecue.
Plenty of off-street parking.
There is also a tennis court, use to be arranged via the owner.
Access to electric vehicle charging point available (at a separate charge).
Additional Information:
Two small/medium sized well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge).
Underfloor heating.
Children of all ages welcome. Travel cot and highchair available on request.
Fishing available on River Arrow (additional charge).
Use of outdoor tennis court by arrangement.
A rural location ideal for walkers and cyclists. The Hop Kiln is located on a peaceful farm with lovely walks on the doorstep.
