Guest Access:
You will have all the space to yourself for the duration of your stay.
It is important that you are respectful towards your neighbours and keep noise to a minimum after 10pm.
The Neighborhood:
When it comes to food, Maroush, a Lebanese restaurant with belly dancers and Ranoush Juice, a Lebanese cafe and takeaway are amongst the best. For all-day dining with a ‘down under’ twist, head to The Providores on Marylebone High Street for tapas-style dishes inspired by antipodean culture, as well as a good collection of New Zealand wines. If you’re looking for a more traditional British pub, then The Green Man is a serious recommendation. Further north, towards St. Johns Wood, Crocker’s Folly is a lavish pub with a full Lebanese menu and a great range of beers and cocktails.
Marylebone is one of the most densely populated areas of London when it comes to culinary delights. Head to the Chiltern Firehouse, a popular celebrity haunt where you can find an incendiary mac & cheese with jalapeno. Trishna’s is another favourite featuring some of the best coastal south-west Indian cuisines outside of India. You can enjoy burgers, pies and rare-breed steak in the restaurant-within-a-butchers-shop Boxcar Butcher & Grill. For cocktails head to The Wigmore, a local favourite housed in a former banking hall. On Sundays, there is even a farmers’ market in the heart of Marylebone, with 40 stalls of fresh produce from oysters to seasonal game. As for after-hours fun, Marylebone is home to some incredible, but pricey, late bars including Burlock with its collection of 200 different types of rum and Purl, with its 1920s decor and prohibition era speakeasy feel.
The closest grocery store is Waitrose & Partners Edgware on Edgware Road, a 5-minute walk from your home. There is a cash point at the Waitrose shop and the nearest pharmacy is Devonshire Pharmacy on Edgware Road.
The Edgware Road district centres on the road running from Marble Arch up to Maida Vale, and is known as being historically one of the most culturally diverse areas of London. The first Indian restaurant in the city opened here 200 years ago, and the first reformed Jewish Synagogue 150 years ago. Nowadays, the area is known as ‘Little Cairo’ or ‘Little Beirut’ because of the abundance of middle eastern culture and food. A walk down the Edgware Road involves a great array of colour from the many shops selling carpets and exciting furniture, as well as the great number of shisha bars, with traditional Arabic pipes outside. For art lovers, the Lisson Gallery is a small but ambitious exhibition space for modern artists. Just off Edgware Road, you’ll find the beautiful area of Little Venice, where the Grand Union and Regent’s Canals meet and you’ll find quiet streets alongside the canals, with charming cafes, pubs and picturesque houses.
Marylebone is an attractive area in central London, with upmarket shops and eateries along its high street that will spoil you for choice. With its fantastic central location, you can make the most of a huge array of activities. Take a trip to the Sherlock Holmes Museum at 221b Baker Street or walk around the beautiful Queen Mary’s Rose Garden in Regent’s Park, or the Italian Water Gardens in Hyde Park where carved historic pools, fountains, and sculptures are sure to delight. If you’re after a little artistic culture, then head to The Wallace Collection in Manchester Square and you’ll be treated to one of the finest private art collections in the UK, with many works dating back to pre-revolutionary France. Take in a morning classical concert at the beautiful sumptuous Wigmore Hall, with its astonishing acoustics then unwind by taking in a movie at the lavish and iconic independent Everyman Cinema in Baker Street.
Getting Around:
Edgware Road tube station on the District, Bakerloo, Circle, Hammersmith & City lines is the closest station (2 min walk). The number 7 and 98 buses towards the city centre run from stop Sussex Gardens (Stop EE) located 3 minutes away from the flat.
