La Ferme - Fantastic Gite complex with pool in 30+ acres nr Bergerac

THE PROPERTY
Le Roudier is a fantastically restored farm complex consisting of 5 properties, four of which are based around the large 14 x 7m shared pool and large terrace with panoramic views of the wonderful Dordogne countryside. The fifth, a luxury house, is just a few steps away, boasting its own swimming pool and Jacuzzi. The 300 year old stone buildings have been sympathetically renovated to a very high standard yet they retain all of their original charm. All Gites are fully equipped and have satellite TV and DVD players as standard.

The buildings are surrounded by 16 acres of gardens which are an ideal and safe area for children to play and explore. The games room with TV screen and table tennis offers a cool retreat in the mid-day heat and being next to the pool it provides an excellent space for communal events. All properties have their own terrace which is furnished with patio furniture and BBQ.

LA FERME
La Ferme is a fantastic 4 bedroom cottage which lies on the SE corner of Le Roudier. With 2 entrance doors and a wheelchair friendly downstairs area, the accommodation is both flexible and practical for families. The access to the large 14m x 7m pool is via the private shady terrace which provides the ideal retreat, beneath the vine covered pergola, to relax on the hammock or loungers. The games area and summer kitchen allow you to escape the heat of the mid-day sun and of course benefit from poolside, alfresco living.

La Ferme formed part of the original 300 year old farmstead and retains many of the original features and character. The well equipped kitchen at the centre of this cottage gives you the option of experimenting with some of the wonderful local specialities. If all that seems like too much hard work and you really don’t want to be going out to one of the many local restaurants, contact the owners to arrange for a local chef to come in and cater for you.

LOCATION
Deep in rural France, Le Roudier is set in one of the finest food and wine regions of the world. The vineyards and local cuisine are second to none and the historic chateaux and bastide towns allow visitors to truly immerse them selves in the rich character that this region offers.

Of course there are many other activities locally from canoeing on the Dordogne river to Horse riding, Golf, Mountain biking and a host more. The Dordogne valley, only 15 minutes from Le Roudier, has a wealth of interesting history dating back to Neolithic villages and wall paintings most which are open to the public.

For those of you who are looking for a more relaxing holiday, the country walks and local markets provide an excellent platform to soak up the atmosphere and sample some of the local produce.

From families with children to couples looking for a peaceful retreat this area can offer a wide range of holiday experiences from evening open air theatres to go carting and bowling.
