In need of repairs, kitchen table chairs need replacing, lots of door issues, and a leak...cleaning fee was exuberant, half the cost of 1 night's stay, (FRBO told me to remove the dollar amt. from my review, saying that its a negotiated rate, and can't be disclosed, I disagree, its fixed fee by the owner, not a negotiated rate and freely visible if you want to see it when reviewing your estimate) ...passed this info (below, and edited it due to FRBO review policies) to owner, reply was that the cleaning team may need to be swapped out, but no response to the maintenance issues. .....

Jonathan, we've had a good time, but for what we've paid, we expected a place that was cleaner, and better maintained. As a property owner myself that rented houses for over 20 years, It is impossible to stay on top of wear and tear for yearly leases, yet only for overnight rentals, without a property manager, when the owner is not local. Found this out when stationed abroad for the majority of those 20 years. Without a property manager or the owner doing a walk through after each tenant, you're relying solely on the rentor to report it, not a good solution. If you have someone doing a walk though, and reporting to you, they're failing miserably. Our problems with maintenance: 1. Wood gate latch ripped away. 2. Back door, 1st floor to outside deck inop. 3. Ceiling Leak in 1st floor bathroom ceiling coming from 2nd floor bathroom, unable to use 2nd floor toilet, shower to prevent further damage to 1st floor bathoom. 4. 1st floor bathroom door out of alignment, must slam. 5. Dinning chairs beyond repair. 6. Game cabinet in living room doors in place, not attached (safety!, fell onto a 2 year old child that saw we had accessed earlier).7. 2 x 2 ft hole in decking by back door 8. Cabinet doors above stove falling off Cleanliness. 1. Kitchen, live roaches under coffee maker, mouse feces in 2 drawers. 2. German roaches in the bathtubs. 3. Cob webs in bathroom, upstairs, bathroom cabinets, a long term issue from the excessive amount. 4. Bathroom floors, sand, cobwebs, safety pin on floor, not sweeped in both. Cleaning fee is EXCESSIVE for the state of this rental. A couple of cleaners at $10/hr should have this place looking top notch in a few hours, with $200 left over for admin fees. For 1 nights rent, a handyman could easily correct all the maintenance issues. Things we liked: 1. Location. 2. Spacious 3. Bikes n kites. 4. Outdoor seating.
