A fabulous place to stay
This was our visit to the South West for decades. It didn't disappoint. It felt Covid-safe and there was sanitiser there for our use, although we did bring our own cleaning supplies.
We were out all day and loved returning to The Stables, which became our home from home. The accommodation was very clean and had everything we needed. The beds were extremely comfortable and the linen of a good quality. The wifi was good for the most part, although became patchy and rebooted randomly on a couple of evenings. Parking was spacious and secure.
There was plenty of storage, including a utility room for our wet clothes and boots. The ensuite to the main bedroom was a little tight in size, but we just used both bathrooms. Once the heating got going the place was warm and stayed warm, and, although we couldn't make the bathroom underfloor heating work, it was warm enough with the heated towel rail. We were 4 adults, which was a little cosy sitting in the lounge area, but with children it would be fine.
Information about our stay and access to the property was good through the key safe. We did not make use of the extra storage.
We did not make use of the outside space, although for this property it was not particularly inviting (it was a brick wall). The road outside was quite busy, so we never walked down it. However, we just crossed over to follow the public footpath (signposted Beacon Hill) and followed it down to St Agnes.
The location was great for exploring this part of Cornwall, from coastal walks nearby and then inland via Mithian and Goonbell (the viaduct is nice). Further afield, we visited The Lost Gardens of Heligan and Mevagissey, Gwithian, Charlestown (Poldark fame) and Eden Project.
Highly recommended and worth a revisit.
