A Nice Little Lake View Cabin for 1 or a Couple.
The cabin is on a hillside above beautiful Hyco Lake. It's cozy and well appointed. The appliances are good and there are plenty of kitchen supplies. The bathroom is tight, with a shower, but no bath tub. There is a counter (shown in the pic), a sm. desk, and an easy chair, but no lounge area. There is a sm. porch with a couple of chairs facing the hillside and lake, but it's not really large enough to call it a deck.
The bed is o.k, but if you're particular about pillows you should bring your own.
Guests have use of the dock, so I suppose if you have a boat you could tie it up at the dock. There's not a boat launch on site.
The small city of Roxboro is 20 minutes or so away, where there's a Food Lion, restaurants, etc...
A couple of things to know before you book.
The listing is misleading. The cabin is not a one bedroom, it's a studio, and as I mentioned it's cozy. It's the size of a standard hotel room. The listing says your family will have a fantastic time. Well, there's no place to put a family. This holds 1 person, or a loving couple. They might squeeze a baby in the bed, but that's it. Calling this a Villa is a stretch - a BIG stretch.
The hill down to the lake is steep, and so are the steps, and it's a couple hundred feet down. if you have mobility issues, this will present a problem.
The a.c. unit is a wall unit. It's new and works fine, but it's loud. If it's hot and you're a light sleeper, you should bring earplugs.
All in all, a nice little cabin at a beautiful lake. Thanks, John!!
