Willkommen bei Whitetail Ridge Lodge, ein Familienunternehmen und Premier Unterkunft betrieben. Diese ruhige Oase ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und wunderschön gestaltet und liegt in einer malerischen Waldfarm Umgebung eingebettet. Das Haus bietet mehr als nur Ihre grundlegenden Kabine, mit dem kanadischen Hölzern gebaut und 4400 Quadratfuß luxuriösen Komfort. Genießen Sie den Blick von der Ausstand Stein Terrasse oder dem angeschlossenen Pavillon im Freien mit Familie oder Freunden, oder Spaziergang entlang der Wälder einen Blick auf die Hirsche zu fangen, die Türkei, Eichhörnchen oder Gänse, die den 72-Morgen-Eigenschaft häufig.

Die Lodge ist mit vielen Stücken nach Maß von unseren lokalen Amish Handwerker voll eingerichtet. Es gibt zwei Kingsize-Bett-Suiten und ein Queen-Size Holz gemachtes Bett. Relaxing Environment for Family Gathering

The lodge is a two-level building on a quiet, secluded, wooded area about 15 miles from Millersburg, OH in the heart of Holmes County. It was perfect for our two daughters and their husbands and the two of us. Three bedrooms all with king-sized beds and their own bathrooms and two large sitting areas, an island kitchen and large dining room that seated 10+ people. The lodge is close to a township road and is surrounded by acres of open fields and large wooded areas on three sides. A very private home with no close neighbors. There is an adjacent detached barn where someone was staying for the weekend, but we didn't see or hear them. The only reason we knew they were there was because the host told us and we saw their car parked outside the entrance on the opposite side of the barn. Had I needed more space, the barn and lodge could have been mine to rent, but the lodge was so roomy and private, it was perfect for our needs. The lodge was easy to get to and is about 25-35 miles from the Amish shopping areas in Berlin and Walnut Creek. Except for breakfast, we didn't eat at the lodge but the appliances were adequate for cooking. We did shop for some expendable supplies (plastic wrap, aluminum foil and containers for leftover food from unfinished dining out meals) but the essentials were provided for. All things considered, this was one of our favorite rentals and we are discussing a return trip next year. Highly recommended for adults and older kids.

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lodge in Holmes County! It had everything we needed to feel at home. We had an easy drive to Loudonville to enjoy hiking and a day at Mohican and then back to make dinner and enjoy a quiet evening and fire.

Nice stay with friends

My wife and I grew up in this area and we decided to take some friends with us for the weekend to visit our old stomping grounds. This was a group of married couples with no kids. The location was great in our opinion, because we knew what was and was not around the house already. If you want big city excitement, this place isn’t for you. If you want something other than a Wal-Mart open on Sunday, this still isn’t for you. This is located in a rural area… which we loved. The house itself is very nice. The kitchen is huge. There are almost too many cabinets and we found ourselves opening and closing them a lot to try to find things. The rest of the house was also quite spacious and comfortable. Our friends were slightly taken aback by the rule book in the house. This is a nice place. We’ve stayed in many VRBO’s and this was one of the nicest ever. That said, the rule book left us feeling like we might make an unforgivable mistake and be charged for it. We are the people who try to leave a place better than we found it, but we were a little uneasy on our way out about whether we would see an extra charge after the fact. Happily, everything went smoothly and the host was very kind. Perhaps the rule book just needs a little tweaking in the presentation. We would definitely stay again.

Great home for a sister's weekend

Amazing property. Very private, tranquil, and offers an array of unmuffled sounds of nature. The home and furnishings showcase the Amish construction and craftmanship. Prompt communications with Kelly, the property owner. All instructions about our stay were provided on the website and at the house. It was perfect. We plan to visit again in the near future.

Wedding weekend stay

Such a clean and comfortable place. Our daughter got married at Mohican Tree House resort and this was conveniently located. Iwe stayed here with friends and it was a wonderful place to come to at the end of the day and relax. We enjoyed watching deer at the pond. Beautiful retreat in the woods

Our family came together at this lovely retreat to view the total solar eclipse. We absolutely loved the house and property. It was perfect for gathering together while having plenty of space for everyone to have get away if they wished. We loved watching the sun set together on the outside covered dining area. We cooked several meals for our large group and the kitchen was well appointed. Everyone thought their beds were comfortable. We will definitely return to enjoy the property and explore the area.

Rural Delight

I can't say enough good things about this property. It's a beautiful house in a very quiet location that was perfect for our stay in Holmes County. This was just the place to spread out and relax after a day off driving through Amish Country. The rooms are well appointed, beds comfortable, and the living room area very spacious. The kitchen was great for fixing breakfast, and the huge dining table was excellent for a meal and for family UNO games. :) We loved our stay at White Tail Lodge and encourage anyone visiting the area to stay here. Thanks so much to the owners for making this amazing property available to visitors. We would definitely stay here again when we come back this way.

Magnificent R&R

I needed a break and it was seamlessly relaxing. We sat on the porch, enjoyed the breeze and no electronic devices. It was so relaxing and needed. We will likely visit again. Annual Miller Sisters’ Weekend

This property was perfect for our annual Miller Sisters’ weekend getaway. Very clean, extremely well equipped, plenty of towels and linens, and great communication with the owner. This home is obviously well loved, it is custom built and beautifully maintained. All the beds and seating areas are comfortable and perfect for catching up with family. The 3 full and well stocked bathrooms are a must for us, as we are 6 adult women who need a lot of hot water. The owner worked with us when we were in a pinch: Our original rental fell through because the owner sold the property and cancelled our reservation! So we had limited time to rebook a new place for a holiday weekend. But after staying here, we were so glad that our original rental cancelled! We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this home to anyone.

Perfect Retreat

Whitetail Ridge Lodge is one of the cleanest and most peaceful places we have stayed. I definitely felt that the owners wanted you to feel at home with many added touches. Everything provided was very nice quality from the paper products to the kitchen components- not cheap and minimal. We had more than we needed. And the backyard was stunning! We enjoyed the wildlife and beautiful fall colors! The owners are very responsive and friendly. We are looking forward to our next visit!!!

We are Tom and Kelly Esselburn and we are happy to host you at our beautiful property. Tom accidentally stumbled across this lovely home and we bought it as a place we could retire to but not too far away from "home." We wanted someplace where we could gather with our growing family of five kids and began families of their own, and it's a good thing , because even our large farmhouse can't always accommodate everyone for those special family gatherings. We just knew we needed to share it with others too because we loved it here and were hoping others would as well.
In 2015 we launched Whitetail Ridge Lodge followed by The Barn at Whitetail in 2017. We are situated between Mohican State Park with all the water activities- canoeing, tubing, hiking, biking and horse back riding in the Loudonville area AND the shopping, crafts, local wineries, food and farmers markets of Amish country in the Millersburg and Berlin areas!
We feel we have the best Holmes County has to offer because at the end of your busy day you can return to gather in this comfortable luxury to just relax on the back patio in front of the outdoor fireplace and enjoy your time with family, friends or just a quiet couples retreat.
We have met so many wonderful people over the years and love to meet with our guests if arrival time permits. The most common theme of the comments we receive is how clean our place is. We always love this because we always appreciate a clean relaxing place when we travel. We try to offer what is best for our visitors, insuring a safe and healthy place for families or friends who just want to gather and enjoy each other! Many people have returned to visit and enjoy this beautiful place and area!

The best thing about visiting here is the quiet! If you're enjoying the outdoors the nearest road is far from being a road much traveled and the trees muffle most sounds! You can actually hear the birds, squirrels, deer moving about or acorns fall from the trees in autumn.
Indoors the quality of this beautiful timber frame home provides an added layer of tranquility! The only "noise" you need to hear is the laughter of family and friends while you enjoy each others company in a game of cards or charades!
The view here is beautiful as you are surrounded by trees that offer privacy, plus provide an abundant view of the woodland creatures from the back patio. The area outside the house is an open lawn giving you room to stretch your legs, check out the well groomed landscape or take in the views of the setting sun as it sinks behind the forest from the back patio with fireplace and park style grill while you enjoy a crisp glass of local wine. Or on a quiet evening enjoy the balcony off the main suite and listen to the frogs sing their night time songs.
We encourage you to walk up to the edge of the woods but caution guests from entering them. We do have bobcats, coyotes and even rummers of black bears sighted near this area, and who knows about Bigfoot! The terrain in the woods is steep and there are a couple deep valleys. We also experienced a derecho in 2022 which caused significant damage to some of our trees deep in the woods, making them possible dangers during high wind times. For your safety we encourage you to hike on state park or designated hiking trails.
