Checkin and finding the place was harder than it should be. The outside upkeep of the property was poor and very unappealling. It is on top of the hill 1 km from the beach, all uphill, not really walkable). Inside apartment was clean but found the beds extremely low (unusual even for Europe), uncomfortable and made excessive noise every time you moved. The 3 hour loud arguments in the parking lot from 12 to 3am we’re very disturbing. Had to figure out how to light water heater. Balcony was unusable and there was no views. Building was being pressure washed (much needed) so the motor started up in the morning and was audible.
While we had low expectations going to this place (always be suspicious when you see furniture covered with drapes or sheets), it did not even meet them and not one of us wanted to stay any longer. After one night we moved to the hotel on the beach, which is a way saner way to experience Salema and the Algarve, and really only marginally more expensive with none of the hassles and disappointment of this place.
