Worst stay of my life
I never, ever have written a bad review of a space. However I found this experience to be outstandingly bad, and feel quite honestly scammed out of my money and disrespected.
I had to reach out to the Vrbo customer service to support me in making contact with my host who never answered my messages inquiring about how to access the property. Ahmed from Vrbo was very helpful, but for the entirety of my flight to Cannes I was worried that I was being scammed.
As we arrived, we asked for WiFi and the host informed us that there was none in the entire building. It would have been nice to be informed, when traveling for a business trip, that there would be no Wifi, the daily tool necessary. The host condescendingly said that it was said in the listing that there is no WiFi, but we did not find any note of that in the description. I find it unfair to assume that WiFi is now considered an "amenity" I should look for in the listing details, especially in this day and age.
This had material impacts on my work during my stay and thus my income. The host played dumb about the WiFi, and when I asked politely how I could approach solving the problem myself (buying a Hotspot or similar solution) she shrugged and refused to engage the conversation.
When I messaged her the next day to ask for her advice, it took days to receive a response. In general, she was incredibly difficult to talk to and understand (I speak fluent French, so it was not a language barrier) and unkind.
