Sie werden den kurzen Spaziergang von 'The Palace' zu unserem weißen Sandstrand am Long Pond, einem der unberührten Gletscherseen im Südosten von Massachusetts, lieben. Dieses rustikale Ferienhaus liegt inmitten eines Pinienwaldes auf einem Hügel direkt über dem großen Strand. Der Strand ist halbprivat und verfügt über eine Anlegestelle, ein schwimmendes Floß und jede Menge Sand - ideal für den Bau von Sandburgen. Der allmähliche Eintritt ins Wasser ist ideal für kleine Kinder.

Das Palace bietet Platz für bis zu sechs Personen. Es gibt zwei Schlafzimmer, eines mit einem Queensize-Bett und eines mit einem Doppelbett und zwei Einzelbetten. In der Pantryküche gibt es viele Kochutensilien und Geschirr. Auf der abgeschirmten Veranda können Sie im Freien speisen und dabei den herrlichen Blick auf den Long Pond genießen.

Perfekt für Outdoor-Enthusiasten, bietet eine Woche im Palace einen altmodischen Familienurlaub.

Sie können ruhige Spaziergänge am Morgen auf Waldwegen unternehmen und sich täglich erfrischen, während Sie überraschend nahe an vielen beliebten Zielen in Massachusetts bleiben. Long Pond hat sauberes, klares Wasser mit sandigem Grund und eignet sich hervorragend für kleine Bootsfahrten. Es gibt eine öffentliche Bootsrampe für kleine Boote. Kajaks und Segelboote sind perfekt. Seit über 60 Jahren fahren die Teichbewohner im Juli und August samstags und sonntags nachmittags mit antiken Segelbooten. Fischer lieben Long Pond, den der Staat jeden Frühling und Herbst mit Forellen und Lachsen füllt.

Entdecken Sie kilometerlange sandige Landstraßen und Pfade, die durch Naturschutzgebiete, Cranberry-Sümpfe und entlang der Ufer von drei nahe gelegenen Teichen führen.

Das Cottage befindet sich neben dem Pinewoods Camp, einem Volkstanz- und Musikcamp. Sie können die Musik im Wald hören und an ausgewählten Sonntagabenden am abendlichen Volkstanzprogramm teilnehmen.

Vier Generationen unserer Familie haben über siebzig Jahre auf diesem Grundstück Urlaub gemacht. Wir haben hart gearbeitet, um seinen natürlichen, rustikalen Charakter und die einzigartige altmodische Natur der Strukturen zu bewahren.

Cozy getaway

This was an amazing stay. It was exactly as described; clean, comfortable and with gorgeous views. Susan and Trip were extremely communicative and made us feel right at home. It rained the whole time I was there but the wood stove and screened in porch made it a perfect getaway. I would definitely come again!

Peaceful stay at the Palace!

Our family enjoyed the tranquility of the lake and surrounding pine forest. The gentle music floating in from Pinewoods was magical. It’s a little confusing to find the location- it’s nearly part of the Pinewoods campus rather than neighbors, as there are shared private roads. But once you are at the cabin, it’s fully private. The beach was clean and inviting. The lake is nice and shallow for young children. The cabin contained lots of little things you might have forgotten to bring, which was handy. The Conant family made us feel welcome!

Quiet getaway in the woods with private beach

Our family for 4 ventured deep into the Massachusetts wilderness to discover this 2 bedroom “Palace” cottage. It had all the basics that we needed and it’s own sandy beach on the lake, a short 2 min walk away. We had a little trouble finding the location at first but the owners went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The cottage was old and had a great nostalgic feel to it. The weather was great so the lack of heat in the cottage was not a factor. The location is great, quiet and private but it was hard to travel at night not knowing the area that well. Located adjacent to a singing/music camp, my son got a kick out of exploring the grounds in our notified “hiking trails” Overall Susan was fantastic and we would definitely go back, preferably in the summer and enjoy all that lake has to offer.

Beautiful location

We enjoyed beautiful sunsets across a peaceful idyllic lake, along with swimming and paddle boarding. The sandy beach is a wonderful location for just hanging out, and the water temperature was perfect for swimming. The host was very cooperative, communicative and helpful.

Wonderful!!

Although a little tricky to find initially, we had a wonderful week spent by the lake. The owners were great, as we had one specifically chilly night and they stopped by the make sure we knew how to start the fireplace. The lake water is so crystal clear, and the cabin was so cozy. It was exactly what we had been looking for.. Thank you Susan for allowing us to enjoy this gem for our stay!

Peaceful retreat

The house is rustic as we expected and comfortable. We enjoyed having dinner on the screen porch with a view on the lake. But most of all, the beach is wonderful, my daughter couldn’t get enough of it. We really enjoyed our stay there.

Long Pond getaway

Peaceful vacation in beautiful spot

We loved the setting. Trees all around to provide privacy, quiet lake, lovely sandy beach, com,fortable beds. Overall we loved it and would be happy to return. There were a few details that would have made it even better. The grill was rusty and although we tried cleaning and oiling it, we didn't feel comfortable using it. We suggest replacing the grill plates (preferably with ones that could be washed with soap and water) and then asking the renters to make sure to keep grill closed so it doesn't get wet. Who ever does the cleaning should check it to make sure it was cleaned each time. There were a couple of windows in the large bedroom that don't close and given that it was colder than anticipated, that would have helped to keep the cottage warmer. Three heaters were provided but they are not efficient enough to really warm the large room. The tall black one worked fine for the bathroom and we were not cold at night. But in the evening, sitting in the living space, it was cold, even with two heaters on. We managed and it was fine so this is just a suggestion.

Amazing beach!!!

One of my nicest vacations !! Loved the fact we were surrounded by nature you could hear all the birds! There was a camp nearby that you heard music and dancing I really enjoyed the sound! The owners were very friendly and very accommodating for anything we needed!! Very tricky getting there at night as it is way up in the woods with many winding roads Google Maps brought us to a different house but the owner but the owner answered the phone when we got there late and came out with a flashlight and showed us the way! Cottage is old but very clean we were very comfortable if you are a camper and like the woods and quiet this is for you!!!

Quintessential Lake Vacation

The Palace of the Cornish Point cottages was beyond perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with the best of all worlds - hidden deep in the woods away from hub-bub of society but within a few miles of stores, restaurants and under an hour from Boston, points of interest in Rhode Island, etc. The cottage had everything we needed and more in a family of four (mom and three teenagers) and the kids spent 99% of their time on or in the lake. Waking up to the forest smells and sounds while being able to enjoy morning coffee on the porch swing while also being able to see the lake a few steps away was heaven. Honestly no complaints and would love to be able to stay again!

My family will keep coming back. This our idea of heaven.

When I found this property last summer (stayed in the cute Dick’s Maggot) I immediately called my sister and we booked the bigger “Palace” for this summer. The cottage is equipped with everything you need and the screened in porch brings in the breeze. A short path to the most beautiful private sand beach is exactly where we stayed every day, all day. So quiet, so relaxing. The crystal clear water is amazing. Shallow and great for little ones. Can’t wait to go back!

A perfect family lakeside getaway

My family of four (kids aged 5 and 2) had the BEST time at The Palace. It's the perfect vacation if you are looking to relax on a lakeside beach that's steps away from the cottage, while also enjoying a cottage experience in the woods. Coffee on the porch swing in the morning and dinner at the table in the evening made for wonderful meals. We were close enough to the coastal Cape to visit easily within a 20-30 minute drive, as well as the historic areas of Plymouth. The easy hike to the cranberry bogs was also a highlight. The folk music and dance camp neighbor was never an issue-kids weren't disturbed by it and I found it a charming atmospheric element to the stay. We had such a wonderful time at this gem of a place. It really checked all the boxes for us in terms of a vacation getaway with kids-beach/water fun, lighthouses, great seafood, a rustic cabin/cottage accommodations, and nature. A bit of a disappointment

The cottage is only a few yards from a little lakeside beach, and this is lovely. We swam most days of our 5 day stay. The beach is shared with 2 other smaller cabins but we only saw one other person on it on one occasion. Loved the beach and view of the lake. However, the cabin itself smelled damp when we arrived and some of the bedding even felt a little damp ( it had rained heavily that day). The damp smell lingered for the first few days. There are fly screens on all the windows but some are broken and some of the windows particularly in one bedroom are ill-fitting and have large gaps, letting insects in. There is a gap large enough under the back door that a chipmunk got in. The kitchen is a small area at the entrance of the cabin partitioned off from one of the bedrooms. The partition does not go up to ceiling height so if you are in bed and someone puts the light on in the kitchen it is as if the light is on in the bedroom. Similarly noise carries. Both bedrooms have a large framed aperture in the wall which has no glass in it, so again if you are in the bedroom you can hear the TV as if you are in the same room, and see the light. This might be OK if everyone goes to bed at the same time. The kitchen did not have oven gloves, or an oven proof dish, or a grater ( I wanted to make a simple pasta bake). The noise from the nearby music camp can be quite loud. It seems to be recorder recitals. It goes on until about 11pm, with a lot of clapping and cheering. I think this would be an OK cabin for a couple of nights and if you don't mind these issues, but not for everyone and not really for us.

Great Location

The water is crystal clear and cool enough to be refreshing but not too cold to hang out in the water for hours. The teenagers loved swimming to the floating dock and diving. The cottage is good size and clean. The beach was relaxing and quiet during my stay..

Amazing place , beautiful view and water

We loved this cottage house , the lake water is so clean and clear ! Suzan received our family with warmth! Everything we needed the house had , the house is beautiful inside I love the rustic look it has , all is very clean and organized, the owner provides games , books to use . It’s a quiet place , very good to relax and enjoy nature ! We highly recommend this location, the kids loved To play in the lake. We made great memories in their ! Spectacular lake front retreat

Just what we were looking for in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Very nice cabin located just steps from a private beach that our children enjoyed immensely. Our 3 year was able to wade safely in the water, while our daughter swam, and dove off the dock. This was a highlight for their vacation. We found the accommodations comfortable, clean, and exactly what we needed. There is nothing negative to say about our stay, and would highly recommend these cabins to anyone. Thank you Susan for making this cabin available, and making this a great vacation for our family. Would definately return again next time we are in the area.

Perfect spot for quality time with friends or family in nature.

We loved the Palace! Susan and her brothers were available for advice and history on the area. The pond is a quiet special place. We took advanatage of the nearby trails and paddling on the pond - we enjoyed seeing the cranberry bogs, an eagle, an endangered red bellied turtle, herons, swans, rainbows... We were a group of old friends looking for a special weekend together and we got it 10 fold!

The Conant family has been summering on Long Pond for four generations. It is currently owned and managed by 5 siblings -- the grandchildren of Dick and Lily Conant who stewarded this land for many years.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

The property sits next to Pinewoods Camp, a dance and music camp for adults and families. Lily Conant helped Helen Storrow establish the camp way back in the early 20th century. Mrs Storrow left the property to Lily who managed for many years. The camp was split off into a not-for-profit when our dad and his sisters inherited it. We have worked hard to keep our family compound as rustic and beautiful as it was when we were growing up. Our five siblings and our children have spent some time during every one of their summers on this land.

We love the rustic pathways (we know every root and bend), the tall trees and it's particular smell of pine and pond water. This is where we all learned how to swim, how to handle a canoe and sailboat, how to walk around the woods at night, and how to live simply on this beautiful property.
