The first thing I noticed about the house is the smell of a dog. I attribute this to the carpet and rugs that need to be replaced. The master bedroom bed was actually comfortable. The other plus was the back porch because it’s the best place to watch a sunset. I would also suggest to the owner and rental company to stock places with basics (ie. dish detergent, scrub brush for dishes, salt/pepper, coffee filters, hand soap for kitchen, paper towels). The short stroll to the beach makes this place worth it.

The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked with cookware, utensils, and storage containers. Very satisfied with the properties overall condition except driveway and parking area. They are covered with deep soft sand and very difficult to navigate. Most standard vehicles will get stuck. Had to use our trucks four wheel drive several times. Couldn’t use the covered parking area. Nowhere to exit the house or your vehicle without walking in deep sand.Surrounding houses have maintained accessible driveways. The screened porch is hot and the screen interferes with making photos of the beautiful sunsets. Would prefer an open deck. The bed sheets could be upgraded. They are rough and poor quality. Excellent location. Would stay here again and recommend to others.

It is beginning to show it's age like us, but that is just fine. the porch is the jewel and is a big plus for mornings. I have noted on the aerial photo, after the storm, it appears that the porch has been shifted to the south. I hope this can be repaired to keep the house in its place. I would like to continue our history in this Old Beach Friend.

However, this house was not what we expected. 1st, the house needs a deep cleaning, sand is everywhere thru-out the home even in the washing machine. The wifi is not secure!! Its the 21st century, everybody has secure wifi. If you are not careful driving into the parking area of the home you may want to back in, limited space to turn around and very soft sand.

Disappointed stay

The bathrooms were stained with long time dirt. Then the surprise of little visitors. Yep roaches had made their home in the bottom cabinets along with the smell of mildew. I had to wipe the pots and pans before I was able to use them because of bug traces. The best part of the house was the screened porch. Some bugs however enjoyed the grill also. We left week and a half n.early cutting up month stay. The owners need to put some money in maintaining the property. I know we won't rent it agai

The 3rd and last time!

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. Reviewer Comments: Well we got there early,the people in the office, not the usual folks, said the house would not be ready until 4pm. We went by the house and it looked to be clean. Called them up, and they said no it wasn't and hung up. We finally got in at 4:25p. The house is tired, the windows don't work the stove has burners that don't fit, there was tin foil in the,old catch bowls. The beds have old mattresses very worn out. The furniture is old and worn. The TV in the main room does not have all the cable functions,I think the cable in the wall is damaged. The other TV's work correctly. The beach shower has been pulled out from under the house and there was only a hose with a broken spray nozzle. Then there is the parade of people who walk down the drive way to access the beach beach. The neighbors on the right side if you are facing the beach set off fireworks over the turtles nest house twice, I also think they were firing a gun into the air. All the bedding coverlets were sticky, and also old and worn. the entire house needs to be up dated to become worthy of the price charged, Painting it is not going to improve the early 60's atmosphere. We would really like to return if the place becomes more comfortable. The screened in porch is the best! but the doors stick and really need some shades to use in the late afternoon to block out the sun blast. The grill on the porch is worn out and only cooks on high heat and the grill is almost burnt away. At least the tank had gas in it. The AC, and laundry machines all worked very well. Our 2 dogs love this house because of the great view of the beach, but we have had to find a more user friendly option for next year.
