Die Alte Schmiede ist ein wahrhaft besonderer Ort, um sich zu erholen, zu erholen und zu entspannen. Ein denkmalgeschütztes Fachwerkhaus aus dem 15. Jahrhundert, das aus einem Teil unseres Hauses umgebaut wurde. Das Haus ist komplett eigenständig und ist über Kutschentüren von der Straße zugänglich. Sie betreten einen offenen Wohnbereich mit einer kompakten Küchenzeile. Oben auf der Wendeltreppe befindet sich ein romantisches Schlafzimmer mit gewölbten Balken und eigener Massagedusche. Wir bieten luxuriöse flauschige Handtücher und gestärkte Bettwäsche aus ägyptischer Baumwolle für zusätzlichen Komfort.

Ein kostenfreier Frühstückskorb mit Milch, Eiern aus Freilandhaltung, regionalem Brot, Speck-Tomaten und Butter erwartet Sie bei Ihrer Ankunft.

Das pulsierende und praktische kleine Dorf Boxford ist ideal gelegen, um die vielen interessanten Sehenswürdigkeiten in Suffolk zu erkunden. We enjoyed our stay at the Old Forge. It was cosy, well equipped and we enjoyed browsing the bookshelves. Boxford is a perfect Suffolk village with good local shops. It is a great location for exploring the Suffolk countryside and coast.

Cosy cottage in a beautiful village.

Marianne was a super host with excellent communication. The Old Forge was a lovely place to stay - wonderfully cosy, super shower, loads of books to read should you wish. Boxford is a pretty village too and was a great place to stay en route to Norfolk.

We enjoyed our week staying in this cosy, well-appointed cottage which was attractive and comfortable. Everyone we met was friendly and welcoming. Boxford is a pretty village and very well placed for exploring Suffolk. We recommend the Box River Cafe for breakfast!

Bank Holiday weekend break

Such a cute, cosy and well equipped hideaway. Great location for exploring the area. Lovely bedroom with comfortable bed. Extensive collection of reading material to browse and enjoy. The little local store a few paces away had everything needed to stock up and the hotel/ pub The Fleece was perfect for a drink in the evening.

Beautiful Studio with wonderful views of church Set in a charming village Studio has everything you need for your stay, comfortable and cosy. Property was well kept and in line with the description Clean tidy and lots of information to hand about the local area including recommended walks The lounge library with hundreds of books to choose from would be great for a longer stay Boxford is a lovely quaint and quiet Suffolk village with good local pub/hotel (Fleece Hotel) with good food when it’s being served, it doesn’t serve food everyday In easy driving distance of Lavenham and Flatford Mill as well as other local beauty spots We had a recommendation for breakfast to go to Old Joe’s from a couple we met in the pub and it turned out to be a great recommendation No contact required with owner but details left for us if we did Well worth a stay

Cosy cottage in a quaint village.

Beautiful, well equipped cottage in a lovely location opposite the church.. The welcome goodies were appreciated and Marianne was very accommodating, allowing us to check in early and adjusted our booking to meet our needs. Lots of walks available from the cottage with routes provided. A lovely area to explore. We hope to return.

A very comfortable stay in a lovely holiday cottage.

The Old Forge is a very nice place to come home after a busy day. It has all the comfort that you need for a holiday. The contact with Marianne, the owner, is good. She is very easy to contact, if you have questions or need something. Boxford is a nice and beautiful little village. We will come back in The Old Forge!!

Cosy property, well positioned to visit Suffolk highlights.

At 6 foot 5 inches tall, I must admit I could have done with a little more space / less physical challenges. The property was quaint and well equipped without a need for anything. Boxford was very quiet which was nice, but there was not too much going on for the short stay visitor, limited shops / stores for small essentials. Plenty of lovely pubs / restaurants a short drive away.

Wonderful!

My daughter booked this weekend as a present. Absolutely fantastic! There is everything you need in the cottage, its comfortable, warm and just perfect. The shower is amazing. Very careful thought has gone into making this just a wonderful place to stay. The village is lovely, and lots of walks are available with from Boxford or nearby. Would thoroughly recommend.

We have raised our family in Boxford and are completely attached to this timeless friendly village. Marianne teaches Yoga in the village hall and Adam is retired. We have lovingly restored our 15th century house over the years including making this independent cottage where we have been welcoming guests for over 10 years. We hope you enjoy the area as much as we do.

The Old Forge is a Grade II listed 15th century house in the most stunning of locations. The history, position and friendliness of the village are all reasons why we have lived here for over twenty years. We have spent the utmost care to convert the holiday cottage into a comfortable and cosy place to stay. Using quality products I have made this holiday retreat a place that I would really like to stay in myself!

The accommodation is small, but packs a punch of charm for everything you need has its place. Quality oak flooring, furnishings and a feeling of cosiness welcome you to The Old Forge. The many guests we have been welcoming here over the years have given us great reviews. Previously with an agency for eight years we decided to deal direct with guests two years ago and have not looked back. The combination of a comfortable base and the location make this place truly special.

Boxford is a thriving friendly village with several shops, a primary school, coffee shop and pub. Surrounded by beautiful walks, meanandering country lanes for cycle rides, and traditional pubs it offers both a quiet place relax things of interest to do. We are also well situated for exploring many of the pretty Suffolk villages and coast.

Whether you want to relax looking at the view out the window watching the world go by, , read a book or go out exploring Boxford has little bit of everything for everyone.
